it's definitely possible, but pretty rare. They're really not meant to be driven all the time and even minor maintenance will destory your profit margins.

Buy an old school nsx. You can drive it every day, work on it yourself, and it is guaranteed to increase in value, Exotics are in a bubble tho. Buy the dip during the next depression.

Lambos don’t because they’re glorified Audis. You can buy a Gallardo for 50k.

Now if you are going to buy a car for investment purposes, don't drive them except to maybe car shows to show them off for sales opportunities and publicity for the car. Otherwise, you are just going to de-value it.


Lambos- Miura, Countach, the SVJ 63, all of which cost at least 300k+ I think (im not that familiar with exclusive lambos, but I know since audi makes them all, I dont really care about them anymore)

Ferraris- HANDS DOWN the most collectible cars. Laferrari, Laferrari Aperta, 458 Speciale Aperta, 488 Pista (still iffy on that one), then you have all your old classics, like the Enzo and others as well.

Porsche- 918 Spyder, GT2RS, GT3RS, Carrera GT, and others.

Mclaren- P1 GTR, F1, F1 LM, and others.

Point is investing in cars can make you A LOT of money in the long run (the F1 LM edition came out at a price of about 1 million dollars, and is now sitting at 16 mill or so for a perfect condition one). Thats about an increase of 700k USD a year to just hold on to the shit or so.

But when you invest in cars like that, you have to have A LOT of money to buy these cars, because not any joe blow who got hoodrich quick is going to understand and appreciate what makes a car valuable.

Thanks for your post. My question always goes back to maintaining these cars long term. Let's say you do actually buy a 250K super car that you never drive, what does it take to honestly effectively store it for thirty years and the cost factor in doing so? Must not be easy.

You’d have to partially disassemble it and drain all the fluids. It’s not good for a car to just sit. You could store it like this for 30 years in a garage sure but it would be more profitable to buy a 400k special edition Gucci supercar and sell it in 5 years. You could even put 10k in weekend miles on it and it would still profit.

You want to buy a car that either has ended production and is very rare, or a car that is in production and will not produce very many (see the SVJ 63 edition, only 62 of those cars will ever be made, thus more rare, thus more valuable).
