But I have a reason to love my birth country.
You see, I am a descendant of Armenians. My family had to flee their homeland and arrived here, in Uruguay. This country and its people welcomed both my family and the rest of Armenians that came here. They welcomed my people and let us stay in a harsh moment in our history. Nowadays, natives are nice to us Armenian diaspora and treat us exactly like they treat everyone else. Uruguay was the first country to recognize the Armenian Genocide, and our relationship with Armenia is nothing but positive. I can't thank this country enough for all these things. I'm so glad to have been born here. No matter if others think it's a shithole or something, this is my homeland. I love Uruguay and would defend it to death!
