The good thing is that if you marry a Japanese, you can stay and work in the country while still maintaining your own citizenship. I too think Japanese should be Japanese, and while dual citizenship is often overlooked in Japan, I'd still not take it unless me being a "Japanese" is culturally accepted as well. If dual citizenship was officially endorsed, you could still be considered culturally as "non-Japanese" but having Japanese citizen perks.
