No idea, I think their liberal elite feel that they are second class citizens similar to jews in Europe throughout history. The elite is always detached from the day to day interactions of groups.

well,that's what was point. still in grand schemes of things you are same people just like all europeans are same.

It's like Somalians and Maghrebis, Both belong to the same group but not to the same sub-group. It's enough of a difference to distinguish us from them.
