Why don't Germans use credit cards?
Why don't Germans use credit cards?
because most shops here don't accept them
Germany is a cunt full of old people who are scared of new technology
Because i dont want my bank to know everything i buy
Privacy is definetly more important than convenience
when people say "credit cards" do they also mean debit cards?
this sounds something a german would ask
>unwillingness to go into debt
>debitcards are accepted everywhere
>lots of places dont want to pay creditcard fees and wont accept them
>credit score isnt a thing to be concerned about
But isn't a debit card less secure than a credit card? A debit card is a direct extension of your bank account, so if someone finds it, they can use all of your money right away and it's gone, like cash. However, with a credit card, it's on "credit" and you can dispute charges with the credit card company
lol cunt
>hurrr im so scared of bank knowing what i buy
literally no one cares about you faggot
When I was in Czech Republic they also do not accept debet cards in a lot of places, for me it seemed strange. In Latvia we accept debet cards in every shit place.
Usually there is a limit. After you reach a limit (mine is 30 euros), you have to enter the PIN code into the terminal.
Even the most shithole parts of Spain have tpv payment
Dont understand this
they prefer ecstasy to cocaine
No, both is haram
the average german thinks it's a jewish trick
You are politically naive and proud of it
pin code
cant do online shopping without going through another online security check, bankid as we call it
i dont have any credit on my card but it still has a visa number and they handle it like any credit card if i get frauded (never happend to me)
im not so stupid that i recieve and keep my all money on the card account. i have one for saving and bills, then i transfer to the other account when neded. gives me a wakeupcall to if i start spending too much.
Both. People are very conservative with money. People dislike stocks and credit, Especially going into debt.
It is getting "better" though.
This, except I am looking for sth to by united statians stuff online. Sadly didnt get such a Deal like you from my Bank.
>40Eurons the year for a card...
>using internet
>concerned about privacy
>Privacy is definetly more important than convenience
Home you don't have a smartphone then
And don't forget about th 7 proxies when posting on Jow Forums
Whats the worst thing that can happen if the bank knows what you buy?
Gossip with their neighbours about it. Its one Part small town mentality.
On the other hand we had the Gestapo and Stasi, so thats why google had to blurr everyones house that asked for it.
Using the internet doesn't mean that you automatically consent to reveal all of your personal information to the public. And even if that were the case, it wouldn't make revealing even more information any better
I don't trust bank, I don't deposit my money into my account.
There's only enough money in my bank account to pay for my rent and such. Heck, if one day my landlord decide to accept cash, I'd have no use for bank.
thats why i always write some nasty shit if i have to transfer money to a friend. so when they check their account it says
>date
>transfer from user
>2000,00
>Thanks for the hot gay sauna sex
It's a cultural thing. Most Germans generally feel uncomfortable about taking debts, so a small plastic card that lets you rack up debts on the fly isn't really going to be popular. Debts are generally reserved for emergencies or house building/businesses
German credit cards get stolen ALL the time, and they usually don’t have any notification systems, so it might be days before they notice and perform the chargeback.
t.totally not a criminal
Kek, amazing.
Same goes for any western euro cards btw, excluding GB. Also Australian and Canadian ones are very popular.
that's quite sensible
Germany is scared of everything new. Credit cards, GMOs, air conditioners. They are cvcks.
I only use it for travelling abroad or maybe online shops where I can't pay with my regular card or it's a hassle.
Can I have a commieblock of hundred apartments blurred off if I'm the only resident that wants it?
Because I have no intention of shoving money up Visa's or Mastercard's ass.
Dont know, its complicated.
>says the cuckold obsessed american
they shifted their xenophobia towards non-human things because they aren't allowed to do that after the war
pretty much coping
They basicly cant put an unblured image up without permission
Why don't Germans use dankort?
I have an automatic transfer every month to my friend 1.99 euros and it always says says ISIS kiddy porn.
I bought dozens of onaholes, doujins and porn subscriptions online, who gives a shit?
Cash should be forbidden in the XXIst century.
Only mental disables pay in cash because the banks refused to let them own a blue card.
Don't you have a smartphone, autistic cretin ?
it's a jewish trick
>smartphone
root it and be safe
>proxies
if you don't use a VPN you're a fool
Cash is better famalam I wouldn't even have a bank account if it wasn't required for payroll.
Swedes don't either. We all use debit cards.
Most people only have a credit card for emergencies.
I bought bad dragon dildos with my mom's credit card when I was a teen.
This is based.
>master card will know I bought a hamburguer at mc donalds, i can't allow that
Also
>Calling somebody autistic while getting mad about how they chose to pay
Meh, you have backdoors in your CPU, in your hardware.
I hate debts, so why would i need one?
how do you pay netflix, spotify, amazon, etc?
Debit card, paypal
With debit card.
Why are you so triggered you nigger ?
Correct. You are protected by a PIN but if your card gets cloned and transactions aren't flagged or frozen they can empty your bank account. Even if it's obvious fraud it can take awhile to get your money refunded.
You also have some additional production as the consumer on whatever goods you buy as the card company is partially liable for them as the creditor. Chargebacks are much easier.
are you this guy? because that wouldnt make sense tbqh
i didn't know that was possible...
a credit card is more convenient though, you just pay it all together the next month together when you receive your salary
I can't stand coin change
never needed one in my entire life, so why should i get one now?
This, plus getting cash back is nice
>how do you pay netflix, spotify, amazon, etc?
I buy a 1 year gift card subscription. Log in, type in the code, done.
He isnt
No im not. There is more than one German on int if you didn't know yet.
>you just pay it all together the next month together when you receive your salary
And how much will they jew you for that?
On Amazon? Here they only accept debit and credit card. I remember back a few years ago you could just buy it and pay an invoice. Good times.
germany is one of the few countries which don't trust the jewish debt industry
t. not german
You have to go back m8
>m8
Nigel pls
nope :)
Why is the rest of the world so willing to give up their privacy for a little more convenience? Every week we hear news about data leaks somewhere, when will you idiots learn that your data isn't safe with anyone?
Thank you for working with Chase Bank - Offshore Marketing Branch. $0.01 has been deposited into your account.
Plenty of germans use credit cards.
Most families have one credit card, in case it is needed. Beyond that people prefer not spending money they don't have.
not sure how things work in europe, but here the cost is 0
you can get totally free credit cards and as long as you pay the total each month the cost for you is literally 0, they make money with the comission they charge to the seller
How the hell do Germans buy cars and houses, when they cost more than what most people have in an account?
It's used if you go to America or some shit like that. Never seen anyone paying at Aldi with credit card.
>On Amazon?
Sweden doesn't have Amazon. I only use Spotify, Netflix and a few other streaming services.
If I shop online I use direct payment with my bank app. Most online shops accept it here. Or paypal.
What are those
You either have the money or take a loan from your bank for the house or a loan from the car company.
Are they averse to cards completely or just credit (but debit is ok)?
>Beyond that people prefer not spending money they don't have.
Why is that so hard to understand for poor people?
Same way we do? Take out a loan, pay for the house/car and then pay off the loan.
It's my bad. Amazon does obviously accept those gift cards. I forgot it. Amazon is nice tho sucks for you.
Why are you assuming that we have as little money in our accounts as Americans do? My dad bought his used car cash, my grandparents bought their new car cash. Granted I don't talk to people much but I've never heard of anyone buying their car on payments. People who don't wanna buy a car outright will lease one instead, it's especially cheap for companies, lots of tax writeoffs.
For houses you generally do take out a loan though. Don't know what this has to do with credit cards though as credit cards are used for everyday spending. And if you can't manage your everyday spending on your own money you're doing something wrong.
It's a cultural thing I believe. I had a student loan for like a year and stopped it as soon as I got a job. Now I have to work 2 days a week but still better than taking a loan.
for my car i took a loan
Probably they work the same in shops. One is just a temporary loan but you can pay it back before the cycle ends and pay no interest.
Swede here. I do have a credit card but I have only used it once, when my car broke down and I needed repairs while far from home.
Otherwise I only use my debit card which is linked to my spending account (not my savings or salary).
I do keep around 2000kr (200 euro) on me in cash though since you never know when you might need it.
>Probably they work the same in shops
They do? When I use my debit card the sum I spend is immediately removed from my account. There's no later bill to pay.
Eurons the year for a card...
What all you have to do here is have an account. Meanwhile I have to pay for my physical checks (landlord and doctor only accept checks).
My friend would do that a lot. "Anal sex" was a frequent one.
>this confuses and angers the europeans
>checks
Is it 1989 again?
>landlord and doctor only accept checks
what? they are probably doing something shady to avoid taxes
Everyone in this thread so far makes it sound like nobody in Germany goes into debt at all, including loans. How do credit lenders figure out how much of a risk is it to loan you money? In the US, we have a credit score for lenders to assess how much of a risk we, which depends on whether or not you pay on time or not to pay at all. A higher credit score means you're a less of a risk, and you get lower interest rates from lenders.
>Germans buy cars and houses
No one here uses a credit card for this shit.
>How do credit lenders figure out how much of a risk is it to loan you money?
They check your income and any valuables, houses, cars etc you might own. Pretty much a complete overview of your wealth. They base the amount you can loan on that.
I mean you swipe, insert or tap it. You can even have the debit card here run like a credit card (zipcode or signature instead of pin).
>How do credit lenders figure out how much of a risk is it to loan you money?
They look at your finances. Of course in the land of credits this would take too much time, so you have to automate the whole process with some bogus score.
