R/BUTTCOIN IS MAKING FUN OF US AGAIN!!!

I feel this everyday. But I don't visit buttcoin at all. I'm pro-crypto but my story is a little different. I found BTC in early 2011 when it was $7. I told my wife about it and she couldn't grasp it. I told her I was going to buy a couple thousand worth just for fun but she shot me down and caused a huge fight.

Couple years pass by and i see BTC on the news because it pumped to $300. Then it was on the news again, going over $1k this time. I was so fucking pissed. I thought it was a bubble and i thought i missed out. I vowed to never research Bitcoin again and I would ignore any posts or news articles I came across. Until November 2017, that is, when everybody and literally their mamas were talking about Bitcoin. I said this is my chance! I bought some BTC, ETH, and XRP. I was so euphoric when I saw the prices going up and up. I was so engrossed in the "hodl" culture that when the marker dumped, I didn't even see it coming. I was blindsided. I got swept up in the bullrun and hodling that I never sold. I'm down like 75% of my initial investment, even though I got in at a pretty good time. I am so fucking depressed and think about kms every fucking day. Thanks, bitch!

sounds like you didn't understand crypto then and still don't understand it now. sure you could have made it, just like you could have won the lottery. your wife was rational. you blame her for making you miss this, but it's likely she stopped you wasting your money or doing harmful shit a dozen times, you just can't see it because it never materialized

wewlad, at no point in any of these bullruns was it "obvious" to anyone except True Believers that it was going to keep going up. $1000, $2000, $5000, $10,000 all of these could have been the top, without the magic of hindsight. No matter when you bought, it was a complete gamble as to whether or not that is where the run would end.

If the crash had come at $5K, we'd be laughing at the $5K buyers. Instead we laugh at the $20K buyers, but only because that *happened* to be the top.

There is no rationale or justification for bitcoin's price, or any way to establish a valuation. People who are not financially-illiterate understand this. So I guess go ahead and laugh at their lack of foresight while you nurse your asshole for putting your life savings into ETH when it was at $1300 because it was so "obvious" that it was going to just keep going up and never crash.
