Back in Poland when it was part of the communist block, certain parts of the city were cat infested, worse than rats. The basements of almost every commie residential unit were filled with cat urine, feces, corpses, starving cats, and they would follow you like a diseassed swarm begging for food. The sight was disgusting. I guess what I am saying is that when people get lazy and depressed (i.e. communism), infestations happen.
