hey i'm not the jomon guy, nor am i saying that jomon-yayoi stuff is relevant in everyday life in japan here, but your explanation is too much simplified and not correct. the terms jomon and yayoi are actually commonly used in education and academia and so, every japanese including normies knows/uses it unless he/she was in special education class or something. the japanese however don't dichotomize japanese people into jomon and yayoi by appearance like he does on Jow Forums since everybody knows that the yamato aka mainland japanese are a mix of jomon and yayoi to a degree and that distinguishing them by mere appearance or current phenotype is pointless, especially when you are talking about haplotype (like jomon D and yayoi O) of Y chromosome, which is the smallest of chromosomes that doesn't carry much genetic information to determine your appearance. at the same time, the advent of molecular archaeology and haplogroup analysis is bringing about a great progress in identifying what used to be vaguely discussed like yayoi. the detailed analysis of O1b group for one thing, as O1b and O2 have a great deal to do with yayoi ancestries. so, the argument over the dominant O1b2a1 group goes a long way in refuting the "yayoi korean" delusion like this stupid italy flag is ranting.
