I think that's what art is for, to "experience" a lot of these imagined scenarios. It could range from realistic ones, that have actually happened, through realistic ones that haven't happened (yet), but very well could have, to the non-realistic ones in different universes etc.
In my opinion some ideas are really interesting and shown accurately, and I could never think of them myself, and also they would probably never happen in my lifetime. So I can watch/listen/read about it
