Real portuguese is the most sober language out there
Spanish sounds good. Italian sounds better.
why do spaniards speak like this?
Italian is shitty Tuscan trash.
Not denying that Italian sounds better than Spanish, but since apparently you are versed in Latin, can you explain me why latin /gn/ was maintained as /gn/ in spanish but transformed into /ɲ/ in italian? Like latin pugna is pronounced /puɲa/ in Italian but /pugna/ in Spanish. Shouldn't Italian have a pronunciation closer to classical latin than Spanish?
Spanish is ok but its native speakers are voicelets.

Hola amigo. Linguist here. Latin -/gn/- did become the palatal nasal "ñ" in both Italian and Spanish. Lat. PUGNO > Sp. Puño and It. Pugno "fist" (with the palatal nasal), Lat. LEGNA > leña and legna "wood". This is as regular a sound change as it gets in both languages. Now, you have identified an apparent exception---the word pugna in Spanish is pronounced with /gn/ and not with the palatal nasal. This is easily explained.
The word pugna (which is derived from Latin PUGNUM) in Spanish is in fact a borrowing from Latin that was coined after the change /ng/ > /ñ/ took place. For this reason, it does not show the expected outcome of the Latin grop -NG-. Other borrowings or cultismos that retain the Latin pronunciation are signo, cognado. But even in the case of signo you can find related words that did undergo the change, as seña, señal, and cuñado.
Thank you
I'm not versed in latin and didn't say that italian sound better thatn spanish.
also in french there is gn and the spanish invented a letter for it .
what I know is that there is no consensus on the phonetics of ancient latin so you can't tell how latins spelled gn
>here is no consensus on the phonetics of ancient latin
there is,it is the latin of the Catholic church.
medieval latin is not ancient latin
nobody knows the real sound of ancient latin
Sorry friends but you are wrong. First, there is consensus on most of the phonological features of Classical Latin based on the phonological systems of the daughter languages and philological research. Also, the Latin of the Catholic church is based on the pronunciation of Italian, not on the reconstructed and scientifically reconstructed phonology of Latin. For example, the Latin word CERA "wax" is pronounced with a "ch" sound in the Latin of the Catholic church but it should be pronounced with a hard "k" sound.
becuase it is, I prefer Italian
>It is not clear how the Romans pronounced their language. Over the centuries, even Latin has undergone modifications and the pronunciation of it that we have received is that which was used from the High Middle Ages onwards by the Church and, up to the birth of the various national languages, also as the official language of the written documents, as well as culture in general. This particular pronunciation, called ecclesiastical pronunciation precisely because stabilized by the Church, is not however the original one of the Latin language.
Various philologists have ventured into the reconstruction of the authentic Latin pronunciation, a bit like that of the ancient Greek; in particular it is worth mentioning the work of the humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam in the essay De recta Latini Graecique sermonis pronuntiatione. The reconstructed pronunciation (known as restituta or classic) exists in various versions; the simplest, which exposes the fundamental principles of the probable phonology of the classical Latin language, is indicated in this article as a classical pronunciation; the more elaborate version will instead be called scientific pronunciation.
The reconstructed pronunciation is that taught in most European schools, while in Italy the ecclesiastical one is generally used, which has a longer tradition and tends to approach the very pronunciation of Italian.

Portuguese > Italian > Romanian > Spanish > French
It is
>"Portuguese>"
That's your first mistake
You wouldn't understand Spanish because it's a language you need to speak with confidence and conviction. You have to be loud and made sure you're heard. If you don't like Spanish, well, you need to have sex

Romance languages are just different bastardized dialects of Vulgar Latin, nothing more. "Italian", "Spanish", "Portuguese" are just names.
Western languages are dumb anyways, learn Mandarin
not far off desu
