You have to know that Berlin is a poor city which is an anomaly for a capital city which usually is relatively wealthy if not the wealthiest city of a country. I don't mean poor because it has poor areas because of wealth inequality but the whole city is fucking broker and the average Berliner is even poorer than the German average which means that if you removed Berlin from Germany tomorrow, including its poor excuse of an economy, the German GDP per capita would actually increase; it is a net drain to the German economy. Contrast that with removing Paris or London which would drastically reduce economical capacity in their respective countries.

Way, way cheaper than Paris and London, way less niggered, way less anoying people (especially compared to Paris), better weather and food than London, pretty good nightlife...

I'd pick Berlin over NYC every single day of the week. I can afford to go out at night Friday and Saturday with a berlin salary for my profession. In NYC, nightlife is a thing max once a week and I still have to be somewhat conservative with the drinks. Fucking sucks man.

The hipster places try to moderate the costs, but even then it's $12+ a drink with tickets to a decent music venue being $60 a night(unless you dig a bit). You can easily go through $100+ as a typical "NYC" hipster who lives in Bushwick(where I currently live). It's fucking shit when I visited Berlin and realized I paid a total of 25 euros for the same amount(ticket+drinks).

Culture here varies from each neighborhood. It's diverse, but the one commonality among everyone is being constantly poor as fuck with minimal investments.

It's so dense, most people use public transportation, everything is an apartment or high rise, trash on the street instead of a can or dumpster etc.

Why not just go into a pub with friends and get pissed? I mean if I go hard at it, I spend like $32,5 or even $43 in one go but that's basically 20 shots of cheap liquor and some dinner thrown in. People who drink beer can get pissed for just about eleven bucks.

You get used to the population density within a few days. Public transport is very very good in the city(walking to a train takes no longer than 5 min. and there are trains within 1-5 min.). If you ever visit London, Tokyo, Paris, or any other major cosmopolitan city then you shouldn't be fazed that its all apartments. The NYC trash/homeless issue will never go away because the city government is incompetent which is a larger issue just with how U.S. cities pretty much neglect the environment.

I want to visit those cities that burgers carpet-bombed, and tell German locals the US is the evilest cunt and Hitler did nothing wrong and it was a true honor to ally with him, but I can't speak a lick of German.

I've been doing that a bit more before going out to a show. Usually it's either that+club or club+drinks. Thing is, the fucking bars are packed to the brim around my neighborhood just because every hipster has done the research onto how to conserve their money. I make enough currently to afford club drinks, but my experience in Berlin got me pissed at how cheap they can go and enjoy nightlife.

I actually want to see this because it might be entertaining.

Also apparently they largely have their homeless population under control, like 96% of them are living in shelters, compared to 25% of homeless in LA. As you may know it was separated by fences and later a wall for almost 45 years. The western half quickly became a welfare case supported by the rest of West Germany to demonstrate that they wouldn't budge, the eastern half was similarly mismanaged as the rest of East Germany by the socialist puppet government. After the reunification both halves were equally ill-equipped to handle economic growth on the free market. The west of Germany already had its self-sustaining, wealthy economic centers like Hamburg and Frankfurt, and now Berlin was surrounded by eastern Germany that had no economic centers to speak of, and in itself is also significantly below the German average in wealth even today. The federal government eventually moved back to Berlin to spur economic growth, and its slowly gained traction, used to be far worse, but it just still hasn't arrived at the national average. Partially also due to the very lassez faire management. Berlin isn't a place of very strict deadlines or strict law enforcement or shame for that matter.

Would never see any of that in the other places.
