That's why so many Scandinavians are good at English despite not growing up in English speaking countries. The fact that I and many other Scandinavians pretty much spend all their online time on the English side of the internet also helps things along. The only Scandinavian thing I actually watch is the occasional good movie and comedy, all else is in English. I actually have a harder time understanding Swedish or Norwegian, which is kind of a Danish stereotype.

Total immersion program, I was put into an environment where English and only English was spoke around and to me until I learned it. I must be retarded, though, because while they say total immersion can teach you a language in a matter of weeks, it took me an entire year before I could speak English in complete sentences. And you don't even want to know how long it took me to learn to read and write it.
