very neglected country by the soviet union, really wish more had been done for it

that being said, there is a good realon why not many famous olympians/people come from moldova compared ot other ex-soviet states and has always been the black sheep regarding ex-soviet states

Posted this in another thread about Moldova but I'll just paste it here as well:
A rather poor ex-soviet country, with hospitable, hard-working people, hot women and good wine. It looks a lot like 1990s Romania because they haven't been leeching off international organizations like we have, so they're in dire need of help. They get their gas from the Russians and pretty much everything else from us, as the lands east of the Dniester, and therefore most of the industry, are under separatist control.
This is false. Moldovans are more like Russians than Ukrainians, and there is even a sizeable Turkish (Gagauz) population in the south.
I'd like to point out that, although this is true, most Moldovans aren't interested in uniting with us, because of pro-Russian propaganda (Moldovan politics are essentially Russians and pro-Europeans fighting amongst themselves), and unionist Romanians are just LARPers.
