this is the effect im trying to cultivate w these TLT calls
heres some rules of thumb
>1 never trade options that close to expiry unless youre scalping w them, and if youre doing THAT, then go ITM and hold them for a day or less. theta will rape you otherwise and you wont have deltas to keep up
>2 dont trade options where theres no volume. thats why the spread is fukhuge and also why you ended up having to sell at the ask
>3 ideally only trade OTM options w at least a month inbetween you and expiry. if theta gets to be too much, rollout to later options
>4 pay attention to the IV on the option. if its too high, DONT BUY IT
yeah and thats because RH frontruns your orders to CDEL who are the MMs on damn near every single options market out there. now you know why RH approves you for wtf ever you want in terms of options levels
