SeeThere is absolutely no reason that this person would be working two jobs to pay for college. He gets college for free and a living stipend while in school.
Unless he's referring to his time in the Marine Corps as those 8 years he worked 70-80 hours to pay for it, but that's misleading as in garrison you really only work maybe 40 hours a week. Training and deployment is different but they're exceptions.

If you're a vet you get the GI bill. The GI bill pays 100% of public school tuition with no in-state or out-of-state requirements. At all private schools it pays something like 20k a year, but there's a thing called the Yellow Ribbon Program where that school agrees to pay the rest of the tuition if it's more than the GI bill covers. Almost every good school has the Yellow Ribbon Program.
There is absolutely no reason a vet would pay for school unless it's for grad school and the GI Bill is used up (it's enough to get a bachelors).
