"berry" is Germanic. In German it's "Beere". Strawberry is Erdbeere in German. So I guess the Dutch word comes from the French word, which is probably of Latin/Romance origin.

>strawberry
>raspberry
>blueberry
>huckleberry

Looooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllll

Framboise is from old frankish language (Germanic) "brambasi"

It's actually "aardbei" kinda like "Erdbeere". Framboos is a completely different fruit.

I don't get it. If framboos exists, show me what is this fruit ?

>Framboos
It's a raspberry right?

Dutch is unironically 51% romance according to an etymology professor here.

Who wrote the dictionary about the origin of words.

Yes but Framboos is from old frankish which is pure Germanic

Yes, Raspberry. I mixed

what?
Correct.
How?

Framboos in Dutch = framboise in French

no like, what did you mean by
>show me what is this fruit ?

Strawberry is Aardbei. Framboos is another berry.

Because I confused strawberries and raspberries at first. Now I know the difference.

Thread is about raspberries

So? In Portugal it is "Framboesa"

>Etymologisch woordenboek van Van Dale berekend dat van alle woorden die daarin staan, 51 procent afkomstig is uit een Romaanse taal
Maar hoeveel van die woorden gebruiken we ook dagelijks? Ik kan me lastig voorstellen dat de meeste woorden in elke daadwerkelijk gesproken zin ook oorspronkelijk Latijn/Frans zijn.

A framboos is a Framboisier in French

No, it's from frankish language

No problem bro.

Frankish is Germanic though

On the first four pages of a newspaper in 1994 only 16,2% were loanwords if you count words once. And 30,7% of the words in total. And 80% of them was romance.

Is it another we wuz Germanic thread?

Erm, 30% if you count words only once. And 16% of the used words in total.
