guys is it fine to learn only how to read and not always what word does mean with anki or should I remember better?
Learn a words definition and reading. Move onto the next word
Ideally you're supposed to know everything about a word like a native, but your brain will usually have something else planned until you see the word at least a fuckton of times.
... you'd think one of our many experts could answer something this simple.

Supposing/let's say that you stopped me, what path can you show to 者
Are 私を止めたとして and 私を止めるとして different? Is the first one talking about specifically the past, while the second one talks about something that could happen in the future?
In English using past and present for 'supposing/let's say' changes the meaning drastically, past applies only to the past and talks about events that could have happened before, present (also future stuff like 'will do') only talks about the future and things that can happen in the future, never stuff that could have happened in the past. Is it the same in Japanese?
Also does 私を止めたとして mean that 貴様はこの者にどんなみちを示せるというのだ is also speaking about the past? Or can it also mean the present/future?
Though I guess it is present since past would just be 示せた

iam struggling to decide between n4 and n3 and look at online example test - but those vary in quality so much
It doesn't answer your question at all, but from what I've seen people say around here you should be able to pass N3 comfortably after studying just a bit.
(though is there any point going for it if it's not N2/N1?)
Unless you really need some validation, only N1 is worth it
For what it's worth N2 is enough for some student exchange programs
