This is just off the web. But I have a 1867 penny.

It feels so weird holding something that when it was printed most people were still recovering from Civil War

These coins were printed to commemorate the 100 years since the death of Milan R. Štefánik

50th anniversary of moon landing

I hope you can take a picture if you can, seems really interesting.

I've always found weird to commemorate the date of death rather than the year of birth. Still a neat coin

Well... He fought with the Czechoslovak legions during the Great War and when he was returning to Czechoslovakia at the end of the war, his plane crashed, so I believe that these circumstances make it more acceptable to commemorate his death rather than his birth

I guess that makes sense then.

Is it true that you can't find the golden £1 coins anymore?

>I hope you can take a picture if you can, seems really interesting.
I’ll post all of my rarish ones. But I was wrong about the 1867. It’s actual 1860 so pre-ACW

The first is a 1930 liberty quarter, second is a 1926 buffalo nickel, the five bronze pennies are in order; 1860, 1876, 1881, 1887, 1908.
The last two are kinda just unique but not necessarily uncommon
The first is a 1943 penny. Known as the war penny, copper had to be rationed so US mint used something different. I can’t remember if it was silver proper though.
The second is a George Washington half dollar for his 250th birthday.

yea they got rid of the old one a few years ago, you can't use them anymore but you can trade them into a bank

none of these are really rare though. but the 1876 is nice

Still, a lot of neat coins. And that 1876 one is in pretty good condition. The '43 penny is just an iron penny, the nickels back then had a small amount of silver though
And I've never seen that half dollar before, looks neat.

Damn, I have like £5 on those coins.

>none of these are really rare though.
When I said rarish I meant relative to all my others lol.
I have like a half pound of wheat pennies

And recently got rid of ~13 pounds of random change. Worth 140 dollars or so in total.

I always liked our 50 crown coin

Yeah, it's a really nice coin. The choice of colors is pretty unique

>he doesn't have hole in his money

I thought you guys had your own coins and banknotes

only banknotes

That's still pretty cool and rare to find.
So Danish and Faroese banknotes circulate at the same time, or just Faroese ones?

mostly faroese ones, danish are rare to see but exist in circulation.
They are technically the same, but faroese ones can't be used in denmark, while danish can be used here.

I heard the purpose for having holes in coins was so they could be strung together on a cord or string not sure how true that is

That's interesting, I didn't think the danish ones would be that rare. But still neat that you can have your own money

i thought it was too survive longer when getting them stuck in your throat.

... must be trauma..

It was like that for Chinese coins

bump

Our mint gets bored and makes zany shit like bimetal coins, coloured coins, holographic coins, GIANT holographic coins, etc.

bump

That 2 bill is pretty old, save it on a book to flatten it
