How long will it take before you retards realize this is the only store of value that really matters?
How long will it take before you retards realize this is the only store of value that really matters?
Everyone knows this already, why do you think we measure our portafolio values in dollars?
I've been all in on USD since I was 5.
>store of value
>constantly loses value
pick one
Because in real terms it loses value fast.
>1965 Big mac at mcdonalds is 43 cents.
>2018 Big mac at mcdonalds is 5 $.
So either Bigmacs appreciated 1100% in 50 years, or the US Dollar has depreciated 94% in 50 years.
Where is the value that was stored here exactly?
Big macs are store of value... That explains why Sergey keeps buying them. He's onto something.
>Because in real terms it loses value fast.
BTC was $19k less than a year ago.
And it was 0$ 9 years ago... how about that brainlet? it was litteraly 0$ and now its worth over 100 billion, now you tell me, -94% in 50 years or +~~~ % in 9 years, i'll wait.
All you need to do is litteraly take 5% of your wealth, buy bitcoin and Monero, and wait 10 years, your gains are guaranteed if you are not a brainlet who tries to trade or time the market.
Buy and wait, its all you need to do, if you cant manage that, too bad.
Crypto literally lost 90% of its value in 8 months. Fiat wins again.
I already replied to this from the other guy
USD is not a particularly good store of value. That is by design, as currency is designed to circulate, rather than be hoarded.
"stores of value" is a concept for people with little capital in the first place, and who want value to accumulate by virtue of simple existence, rather than activity.
Y'know, standard NEET economics.
>Fiat: 1100% depreciation in 53 years = 4.8% per year
>versus
>Bitcoin: $20k in Dec 2018 depreciated to $6k Sept 18 = 37% per year
>your gains are guaranteed
You are making the assumption that any of this internet bullshit money is actually worth a cent in the first place.
We all operate our lives on assumptions don't we though? We all assume that tomorrow we will wake up and our USD will buy pretty much the same amount it bought yesterday.
In statistics you learn to trust the larger sample sizes, we have 100 years of USD losing 99% of its value in terms of buying power. So we know for a fact that Cash is a real negative yield. While we still dont know for bitcoin. sure, bitcoin could go to 0, but we already know that USD is going to 0, we confirmed it through 100 years of data.
Now, is crypto the answer? maybe not, but i prefer the small chance of it being the answer, above the 0% chance of my fiat holding value.
Which is why my cash position is minimal- its all in dividend stocks and crypto.
A challenger appears...
>we have 100 years of USD losing 99% of its value in terms of buying powe
This is of course quite a concern for someone whose interaction with USD is limited to stuffing bushels underneath mattress. It's quite true: so long as those bushels stay underneath the mattress, they'll lose an average of 2% of their value annually.
For everyone else, this not a concern. Can you explain why?
I wake up tomorrow and know that the store is going to take my dollars. I wake up tomorrow and still nobody accepts bitcoin and its $1000 of its value magically vanished in a few days.
Kek
Nothing is permanent. Crypto has only has buying power after trading it for fiat. That means if fiat goes, crypto goes.
That doesn't look like real estate
Im not saying fiat goes, im saying fiat can go, and holding assets will prevent you from losing purchasing power...
Now if you dont trust crypto to do that, thats fine and is a valid concern since we are 9 years into this and there is a lot of uncertainty. Also i will admit that bitcoin never saw a real financial crash, so only after we see a real meltdown we can know what crypto is all about. It is possible that crypto will melt like everything else, only never to return, but no one knows- and that is the kind of risk which can get you X100 returns in 4 years ( or 90% loss in 8 months).
>magical internet money investors and their fixation with the word fiat.
