they do basically the same thing as SWAT units in any other country, take on armed and dangerous criminals

as for boats the Icelandic coast guard is quite heavily armed for a coast guard and does assist the Viking Squad when needed

if I recall correctly a rebel militia occupied the village and drove off the government police and killed 2 of them in the process, the Portuguese peacekeepers went there and politely asked them to leave in the only language those animals understand, machine gun fire
