Americans and Australians say route as rowt. I find it interesting that Canadians say it like root, like I think the Brits do.

That is odd, if anything I'd expect you and australia to be swapped. Maybe it's the french influence? I remember playing halo 3 and a character said 'en route' the american way and I had no idea what they were saying
