The M/S Estonia disaster. 852 people died when she sank in 1994 on the 28th of September.
501 of them were Swedes. Two of those were my grandparents..

Here's the recording of the attempted rescue mission from ships in the area and the final words heard from the Estonia's captain and bridge crew..

why such high numbers never happen to the niggers in the med sea...

The med sea isn't as cold. People who fell/jumped into the water from Estonia died in a few minutes.

>why such high numbers never happen to the niggers in the med sea...

The Med-sea is kinda warm.
The night the Estonia sank the water temperature was between 10–11°C and the air was even colder.
And there was waves several meters high.
Most people were dressed in t-shirts, pajamas etc, stumbling out from their cabins into an ice cold night. And fell into the freezing sea.

There likely more, according to one of the survivors: "one of the four survivors out of 524 passengers and crew, recounted from her hospital bed that she recalled bright lights and the sound of helicopter rotors shortly after she awoke amid the wreckage, and while she could hear screaming and moaning from other survivors, these sounds gradually died away during the night"

Tudjam deliberately let the city fall to gain the support of the western public.

Sarajevo market was bombed by the Bosnians for the same reason.

This is going to sound cringe but this gives me flashbacks of when I (7 yrs) was on our family boat with my father and my 1 year old baby sister. We were in a narrow fairway when we had a double engine failure and loss of power. The engine room was filling up with diesel and it was ankle-deep if you were to stand in it. My father was in there with a fire extinguisher and some tools. I was at the helm holding my sister, with my hand on the emergency fire extinguisher that would fill the engine room with foam. I saw a Birka Cruises ship round the corner and since we didn't have power, we had no AIS or radar to make ourselves visible on their screens. Little 7 year old me had to contact them on VHF. I misheard the drunk Finn on Birka Princess that said "Ja, vi kör för över" as "Ja, vi kör över", which means "Yes we're running you over" instead of "Yes, we'll go ahead of you".
