We technically don't have any skyscrapers, because no one has been allowed to build any. They're deemed unnecessary, not profitable and doesn't look good. Tb h it's a good thing, they're kind of a huge scam when you really look into it and most will most likely never really get renovated and just slowly decay until they become a hazard and needs to be torn down.
Closest thing we got is pic related in Oslo I guess, which is only 117m tall and therefore not technically a skyscraper.
kino
no clue what the formal definition of "skyscraper" is but supposedly this is the first one in latin america, finished in 1910
not very impressive today but it looks kind of nice still
If you dont like that one (only ~80m tall?) the Kavanagh was finished in 1936 and was the tallest in latin america as well, at ~120m
argentina was so rich before Peronism... way richer than spain, theres a reason my great grandparent moved there
I don't think there's a set-in-stone definition, but what I could find from quick google search is ~40 floors or ~150m tall. So most of the buildings in this thread isn't really skyscrapers I guess.
Was he British?
>Venezuela
Damn
I don't think we have any
this is the first one in the world
build 1933
tall massive 70m
it's named "Nebotičnik" which means skyscraper in slovenian
>small euro skylets
>BIG AMERICAN SKYSCRAPERS
They're building the first one ever in Kalasatama, Hki.
What do you consider a skyscraper ? To me that's a high-rise. A skyscraper is 200m+
Well the thing is, a 2019 skyscraper isnt the same as a 1919 skyscraper
i'm sure a 100m+ building would be very impressive back then even if now its pretty boring
Either this building in Rijeka, called "Narodni dom" ( "House of the People"), built in early 1930s
or this one in Zagreb, built also in early 1930s
This one was built 2 years or so later.
None of them are technically skyscrapers, though.
