if I was her I would feel bad for not knowing how to sail and having everything paid for me. I would see the sailors running around and feel compelled to help them but realize I can't because I'm too weak and have no knowledge or experience and then I would feel hopelessly inadequate.
actually, this is kind of the reason why larger, higher tech and more impersonal services are both nice and also bad. if we all insisted on sailing rather than flying or taking a proper ship, maybe we would all be less weak and learn some skills.
