>Nobody pays these prices. Not insurance, not cash payers, or anyone in between. Pricing is a big fucking scam - they put whatever they want on the bill then negotiate it to a fraction of the bill to make everyone think they are getting a deal. Step 1 in fixing the medical system would to have actual real prices for everything and make everyone pay the same amount whether the money is coming from cash, insurance, Medicare, etc. In the US, the birth of my child via c-section and 4 night stay for mom and baby was about $4k total, which IMO is reasonable for room, board, OR, meds, and 24/7 care. Insurance negotiated the price UP to $7k and paid the full $7k. I thought I was reading it wrong so I talked to our benefits provider and they confirmed. System is fucked.
>Edit: oh, that reminds me. Just needed to get an Epi pen for the baby. Aviq epi pen is $5,000 if you have insurance. My insurance negotiated it to $4970, then paid all but $80. The kicker is that if I didn't have insurance, Aviq would have provided it free of charge. Literally costs me more (both monthly and out of pocket) for having insurance. The nice kicker is that insurance delayed approval for 2 months. Bastards found it OK to delay a life saving device. Luckily I had a Rx for a second type of epi pen (less ideal dosage, but still suitable). BAKA
Wew lad.

>What are all these other bills?
All fees for physicians' services are billed separately by the physicians who provided your care. In addition to your primary physician, you may also receive bills from some of the physician groups listed below as well as any other physician(s) your doctor consulted with regarding your care
There's fucking more of these bills?
Shit. I'd have to work for 2 years for free to pay it.
When I see stuff like this, I wonder if my life has any value at all.
Where’s tips?
>nooooo i shouldn't have to pay for expensive medical tests i should get it for freeeeeeeeee
