Burj Khalifah at 828 m. But they are building a taller one. Dubai creek tower. No one actually knows for sure how tall it's going to be. But many speculate they wanted to be more than a thousand meters tall so it can be taller than the Jeddah tower being built in Saudi Arabia. So that the tallest building title remains in the city. This might even be the reason they are building it in the first place.

I don't know but I don't think so desu. I don't live in Dubai anyway. I barely go out desu. For me those skyscrapers are just eye candy for me to enjoy when I'm in Dubai, unless I'm too bored with them to even bother looking at them. However they still keep building more and more of them. Every time I go there the skyline is different. I remember when I was a kid and there was barely anything in the city. And pic related + Burj Al Arab were the defining skyscrapers of the city lmao.

Unfortunately, architect industry has a lot of Nepotism.
Most architect degrees end up being unfulfilled and majority of people design normal buildings or houses, instead.
Too much competition for skyscraper architects and the only countries willing to build skyscrapers are Asia and America. You don't see many skyscrapers in Europe.
Skyscraper appetite has died down in America, though, so you would likely have to move to Asia, possibly Japan.

The tallest building in my state (Oregon) is a boring modernist office tower built back in 1972. It's only 166.4 m tall, or around 546 feet, with 41 floors. There's no observation deck, but I've been near the top of the building to visit an office, and it has nice views.
