The only situtation the UK would actually join the US, would involve the rest of the Anglosphere joining into a political union - likely only in the event of WW3.

lib dems will never support a corbyn premiership, they have absolutely nothing in common with labour aside from their brexit stance
i doubt corbyn will ever step aside for another caretaker either. it would demolish his authority and i suspect he would like to see brexit finished before he becomes PM so he no longer has to appease remainers in his party (which, no matter what he says, he is not).
