Anyways, if anyone does have native blood it's going to be very diluted since almost all of the mixing was over after the colonial period. It mainly happened because settlements failed and the people there asked to join the Indians to avoid starving. A lot of them reported being much happier there, and refused to leave when invited back to then prosperous settlements. Interesting stuff.

Only a few ones that can trace their ancestry to colonizers ones before independence. Back then some natives, like the Cherokee sealed deals only with a marriage, so, for a time, it was a way to get land for newcomers. After independence and the pushing to the west of natives, this ended.
