Yugoslavia however is a country of spectacular failure and new fake countries that emerged on it's place has only destroyed what Yugoslavia build, most of the are still poorer than they were under Yugoslavia, but at least they have nationalism, so it's fine.

I like them. Croatia and Bulgaria are great, visited each of them many times over the years and I love them. Dunno much about the rest, but what the other user said about Slovenes being highway jews is 100% true. There's no other way to go through the tiny strip of Slovenia to Croatian than through the highway, and the vignettes are very expensive. They also vet the people at the borders, or at least pretend to enough that you just stay in a massive traffic jam for the few kilometers.
Ljubliana is nice, but it's more like a small town, not that much to see there.

Where I live we have the opposite problem.
Highway ends the moment you enter south Slovenia and we only get small rural roads that take forever up until almost the center of the country. Weird since this is one of the closest crossings to our sea and it probably gets loads of traffic during summer.

We must expand politically towards each other, no other direction makes sense. I want Croatia to join V4 and the rest of the Three Seas Initiative to cooperate closer. Completing Via Carpatia might be a good first step towards this goal.
I like Poljska and Slovačka. Krakow was the best city I visited in a foreign country. Češka not so much but I don't dislike them.
West Slavic languages sound a bit goofy and South Slavic languages sound a bit brutish, with Slovene in the golden middle
