Is Singapore a good place to go to if the SHTF? I'm worried that America may become socialist in the future, and if it looks like that's gonna be the case I'm gonna sell all my shit and move somewhere else. And if I'm moving, I might as well move to a place with more economic freedom and opportunity, and Singapore certainly fits the bill.
So is it a good choice, or is there a better place that you anons would recommend moving to?

The other option that is arguably even better is Hong Kong, but their situation with China makes me too nervous to choose them. I don't want to move only to end up under the bootheel of the Chinese government and their economic restrictions.

Nope, all is opposite. Singapore second offical language is english in HK chinese people dont even speak english. Singapore is much more western place, Hk is over crowded as fuck

The island relies on imports, so it would get absolutely fucked up in an apocalypse. Millions of starving people on an island killing each other for resources sounds like it would be a good kino, but in real life it'd be awful. If you want to survive a total collapse then you need something self-sufficient in the middle of nowhere.
But if you're just thinking about America getting worse and worse, and want someone to move to. Singapore might not be a bad choice. Expensive as fuck, but it's like a non-gay America.

Japan has many more barriers than Singapore for foreigners trying to integrate. Primarily due to language. It is totally possible to succeed in Japan as an outsider, but it is a lot more difficult. English is an official language in Singapore, and its easier to find work that doesn't involve being an english teacher gaijin lol.
