>sanctions against the world's most closed economy among non-pariah states
Good luck with that
"Closed economy" means that the country does not depend on foreign trade as a source of income, if you have any doubts.

we chinese welcome our fellow Brazilians, we can offer you tips on how to deal with fevela monkeys.
Sebastian Bailey
Nothing because our economy is extremely self-contained and euro products are disposable, they need us more than we need them.

Russia and China will probably not support Brazil because of the Venezuelan situation
Blake Cook
>What if the EU sanctions them
They'll be poor
>What if the EU doesn't sanction them
They'll still be poor
They aren't gonna see a cent of their newly planted soy anyways. You'd think the Brazilians, after countless dissapointments, wouldn't put blind trust in politicians looking for a quick buck anymore, but here we are.
Who cares I guess, it's gonna be fun to see them realise that nothing changed but they burned their culture for American cattle.
Dominic Barnes
What Venezuela situation? Brazil is a neutral party and we are taking in Venezuelan refugees
Jayden Anderson
bolsonaro will prob flip his stance on Venezuela then.
Leo Evans
i can sense the tears over trees on this post
Nicholas Clark
Are you kidding I lived in Brazil you idiot I know very well he and his votebase hate them.
Hunter Sullivan
Years of socialist policies made Brazil very sustainable, our economy is already very isolated. So if EU sanctioned us they will be the side loosing in this.
Tyler Long
>They aren't gonna see a cent of their newly planted soy anyways
Yeah, dude, don't even bother, you're still gonna be poor, why even trying to get money?
Joseph Baker
And? Brazil is still neutral and the Brazilian army will not support American military intervention in Venezuela
Jacob Phillips
Wasn't that already called BRICS? Whatever happened to that anyway?
Lucas Walker
still up, passport liberties and china is brazil's biggest trade partner other than the US
Caleb Nelson
It doesn't work like that you can't say openly you hate their ideology, that they cause every evil and should be erased from earth and at the same time have them trust and associate with you

Become closer to the USA. Could always use another Brazilian steak house.

EU sanctions fucked up way bigger economies but if Brazil is already a protectionist country it may not do much. It would prevent it from opening their markets though if they wanted to end their protectionist policies
Daniel Gomez
Why would Russia or China ever support Bolsiminion?
Hunter Allen
I don't like venezuela, I don't like macron and I don't evebn think boslo is the only culprit for the fires, I just don't see why their allies would support brazil right now that's all.
Liam Myers
>Macron said: “I think Brazilian women will probably be ashamed to read that from their president. I think that Brazilians, who are a great people, will probably be ashamed to see this behaviour … And as I feel friendship and respect towards the Brazilian people, I hope that they will very soon have a president who behaves in the right way.”
Invasion soon
Carter James
>EU
lmao what are they going to sanction brazil with?
Nicholas Price
there's alot of investment from china in brazil, i heard bolsonaro wanted china out, this might be an excuse to get back in.
Jason Gomez
>fires
Joseph Jackson
>ello monsieur macron?what? ok, i see... yes, yes we will take care of that
Jaxson Smith
Of course, but no bullshit, please. In the Bush years, your country pushed hard for FTAA, an expansion of NAFTA that would include the entire American continent. All fine and dandy, but then we discovered that the only products that would have reduced taxes were conveniently the ones that the USA exported, while the ones that we exported would still be taxed normally. Then we just went "fuck no" and dropped from the negotiations. Since Brazil was the only member the USA was interested to be in their expansion, the idea was completely dropped.
Grayson Gutierrez
How dense are you I just said he wasn't the only one doing it, it's not because other retards did it in the past that it's cool to do it.

If fires didn't change at all then it's obviously not why Macron is freaking out, we all know it's an excuse to mess up the Mercosul-EU deal which will hurt frog farmers.
Jayden Wood
Nathaniel Cook
>they need us more than we need them.
Where have I heard that before?
>The EU is Brazil’s leading trade partner and represented 18.3% of Brazil’s total trade in 2017.[6]
>Brazil is the EU's eleventh-biggest trading partner, accounting for 1.7% of total EU trade (2017).
David Brown
>Invasion
I call it a business opportunity
Alexander Martinez
No he's doing it because he's trying to get a better image with the left leaning crowd. The reason really doesn't matter you know. He's a politician, and he's a shitbag. I don't understand why you care so much about your president and how cool he is when everyone is just upset about the forest.
Jaxon Lee
Now look at the trade-to-GDP ratio.
Liam Brown
>everyone is just upset about the forest.
Which, again, is a manufactured outrage you have been manipulated into caring about even though it happens every year and this year didn't see a particularly high increase.
Luis Cruz
Because it increases the Chinese sphere of influence, same thing with the heavy Chinese investment in Africa
Hudson Baker
You're quite low, but you'll want to open your markets to develop
Landon Hall
If people do care about this kind of thing they will dislike it, it doesn't matter when they find out about it. There's a lot of other shit like that everywhere, and if it they don't like it in brazil they probably don't like it in other places. Yes people got vocal about it because of bolso, but if they don't like the fires it's because of him.
Brandon Scott
We are making deals with pretty much all countries now which gives us plenty of room to grow while euros are desperate for expansion since their economy is stagnating so they can't afford to cancel the deal.
Robert Nelson
>while euros are desperate for expansion since their economy is stagnating so they can't afford to cancel the deal
I'm sure the EU can afford to lose a 1.something% trade with Brazil, being the world biggest exporter and having just signed history's biggest trade deal with Japan
Grayson Peterson
I meant it's not because of him. Anyway if you think it's no problem you do you. But don't just support it because bolso did it, would you have supported it if it were dilma or lula? Who btw are not that far politicaly
Bentley Collins
I wonder if you will be outraged about the bigger fires in Africa going on now that you learned about it.

>I don't like them
And you or anyone else don't talk about it at all or threaten to cancel trade deals over it, why do you think that is?
Asher Thompson
I'm not the french president and I keep to myself. I just think the argument that others are worse is not good. If you wanna do it just do it stop whining,
David Roberts
>just do it stop whining
It's not me or our government that started this whole drama so that's a nonsense argument, we kept to ourselves but the media and frogs had to turn Brazil into a villain for their own poorly veiled political reasons.
Ryder Cox
That's very untrue you do not keep to yourselves at all. But anyway just accept some people don't like it that's life.
