Same reaction every time. What the fuck is wrong with this country?

You need to give them some time to load, Americans aren't well equipped to deal with unplanned social interactions. We typically try to completely ignore the existence of other people in public spaces. When someone disrupts this equilibrium by, say, accidentally making eye contact with or standing a little too close to another person, they will experience a wave of shame and embarrassment, and may appear visibly flustered. If by chance it becomes necessary for them to communicate with someone else (for instance if the person in front of them drops something), they will prefer to use gestures or grunts in order to get their attention. They will only resort to speech as a last option when these have failed.
On the flipside, if you were to do any of the above to an unfamiliar American, they would typically feel offended by your affront to their scheduled programming, and might try to communicate this to you through a look of shock or suspicion. Please be patient, we're all autistic.
>>try to strike up a friendly conversation with someone in public
I hope you get hit by a fucking truck, leave me alone.
No one wants to talk to you.
Get over it.
ME EXISTING DOESNT MEAN IM OPEN TO CONVERSATION I DONT WANT TO FUCKING TALK LEAVE ME ALONE I DONT BOTHER YOU SO WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING ME

by all accounts americans are some of the most sociable, talkative people in the world. maybe it's you dude
I always get to talk with people I don't know at the supermarket.
this. honestly it's painful to be an introvert here.
>be on the metro sitting across from a guy wearing a pair of shoes from one of my favorite designers
>"hey man, i really like your shoes"
>he's caught off guard by the violent intrusion of my presence
>mumbles "huh?" under his breath and looks down towards the piss stained floor
>a few seconds later he resumes forward stare resting pose
>i resume forward stare
>maybe next time
Woah maybe some people just don't want to talk/talk to you. Just because you're a needy faggot doesn't mean others are. If you have something useful to say say it, if you're just exchanging pleasantries and small talk for no reason go fuck yourself
idk anons, i think there's a difference between being a surface level extrovert and being an authentically sociable person. in armenia, if you go to the market and simply ask a stranger where to find a certain fruit or whatever half of the time they will end up inviting you over to their house for dinner that night. you all seem a litte traumatized by social interaction in comparison
I only strike up friendly conversations when I'm on long flights
>tfw conversation raping an amerilard
>tfw spreading his unwilling earholes wide with my seven syllable words
>tfw leaving his alone time dripping with my verbal cum
>be in America
>try to strike up a friendly conversation with someone in public
There's no person in the world more American than Terry Davis (pbuh).
I hate it when some random freak tries to be friends with me
literally nobody does that
I honestly love talking to strangers but I have a friend who will go apeshit if someone talks to him in like a store or someplace like that
Encounters like this are very common
unironically keep doing that shit. we need some people to keep trying to hold society together here
Is this not normal? Do people just walk up to strangers in other countries and start talking to them? I have literally never felt the inclination to speak to another stranger without needing to get by them. I have never initiated a conversation with someone I didn't already know. I clench up if someone talks to me in public, I start fearing that I'll be mugged.
