How the hell do people move to other countries?
Do you get a place to live then save up enough to pay rent for a while while trying to find a job or get a job first then look for a place?
How do you look for places and/or jobs if you aren't in the country?

You arent supposed to move to other countries without immediately having a reason to be there usually.

You get a job offer from the country you wish to immigrate to.
Or you just start to participate in some international program with a selected country when you are young, maybe go to study in uni over there. Usually finishing uni in that country will provide you with opportunity to search for the job over there once you've graduated and after acquiring the job you may apply for documents.
Also there is a business immigration where you pay enough to get required passport.

My parents would not shut up about how dangerous that is. I told them I would get a one-way ticket and go live with my qt who would take care of me while I look for a job or school. They were telling me that I would get deported, considered a terrorist and an illegal immigrant simultaneously, and never be able to travel outside of Canada ever again.

You look for an apartment and start sending out job applications. But usually people have money to pay rent for a few months it's not always easy to find a job before going there
