Hey, Jow Forums. ITT I'm going to post some photos from yesterday potato harvest
Tractor preparing field for harvest.
what are you going to cook for us with those
We usually just boil and mashed it.
Sadly, potatoes are quite small this year.
Based
Cat came to look I was doing.
cute
Blessed thread
It gets bigger

Preparing banya to wash-up after harvest.
based russian farmerbro
This cart is much heavier than it looks like.
I found this green guy on my pants after harvest.
Shit, the same photo.
Field after the first part of the harvest.
All harvested potato
Very impressive yield, shame about the smaller size of many of the spuds though. Are you thinking to bag and sell them locally or keep them for yourself?
That's not a big haul. How do you manage to support yourselves being so small time?
>so many potatos
You did good job.
thank you for posting this, I really enjoyed looking at your harvesting mechanisms and the cool grasshopper you found, this was a lot of fun to see!
you should cook some hash browns with some if you like fried potato foods, I love a nice hash brown
do you sell your potatoes to chain stores ?
do you grow foodstuffs other than potato?
For a field of this size , it’s relatively impressive. Perhaps not enough to sustain a family though
>Very impressive yield
It isn't, field is overused and needs rest. Probably, next year I will use another field.
It's enough for eating for the whole year.
Cool, we did it two weeks ago, it's a really exhausting work
My dog eats the worms
Yes, I didn't mean the yield obviously. They're at least two and have a tractor to run. That's not a lot of potatoes to sustain their operation.
>do you sell your potatoes to chain stores ?
Only for yourself and relatieves.
>do you grow foodstuffs other than potato?
Few apple trees, little field (25 sq.m) of onions, some herbs, and little garden with cherry.
wow cool I would like to grow onions and stuff but I have so little space. I only have a tiny tomato bush I grow as a hobby
that's some nice black soil
We grow tomotos here too.
That place looks comfy
great thread
Tractor from another angle of camera
Wholesome.
Why are russians the best posters? It's the potato russian and the cook russian
how old do you reckon that tractor is? i'm thinking around 80's or so, but it looks like it's in great shape considering how much it must be used
based thread
>i'm thinking around 80's or so
Probably, this is right guess. Btw, it broke at the yesterday morning and I was waiting its until 3 PM.
based Russian potato farmer
it's a noble profession
soil looks nice and fertile, sandy loam I guess?
>noble profession
It isn't profession actually, a lot of people farm here in north Russia just to support yourselves. It's hard to find private farmer here, farming industry consists fromrelatievly big companies.
Yep
Hi Anatolli. Will you sell it?
Is from 1960s or 50s? Why not buy a new one?
Random cat? Or your pet?
Do you hang around here? How you discovered Jow Forums?
More Tracto Strong Old Bro, please.
Wife's dad has a ver old 1960s ruskie tractor.
Is really from 1980s? Should be older. Try to paint it.
here>Why not buy a new one?
Why buy new one for this small field?
>How you discovered Jow Forums?
By russian lurkmore.
Strong image for propaganda. Keep dpimg your farmer job, fellow ruskieanon. We encourage you.
You are humble. 99% of people depend food companies. You will survive.
Thanks for answer me.
Will you drink tequila and eat tacos?
don't you have these?
>eat tacos
I ate Shawarma few times. Btw it's quite popular here to make meat on fire for holidays or weekends.
This is for big farms with big fields.
adorable worker
Wait a year or two after this harvest, the soil doesnt look too good there, and needs to regenerate.
Tacos have more flavor than arabs.
This guy gets it.
i have a smaller potato field than yours and still use it for the harvest
Add natural fertilizer? Poo and pee?
Wholesome thread, thanks user
I assume farming is more if a hobby to your family nowadays, what do they do now?
>Designated shitting field
Could help a bit, but its better to just take a new spot if you can
Won't help this time, but it had been being already done almost every year.
>farming is more if a hobby
Yep
>what do they do now
Usual works like postmans, truckers, cashier and so on.
My pet.
based potato poster
It's hard work with old equipment for a small yield, but it's honest work. May god bless you with more endless amounts of potatoes in future.
Not much, for how many people?
Two or more
Very nice. Where in Russia do you live? Do you like it?
low status people grow potatoes, you should grow weed or garlic
>Where in Russia do you live
A little bit eastrner and norther than Moscow.
>Do you like it?
May be, it isn't like I can easily die here or be humilated here everyday, but it is like I can get somthing better.
Good thread~
It's been a while since we had any homegrown potatoes. Our backyard harvest was never that big, but a bucketful of poatoes being poured into the kitchen sink for washing make a really satisfying rumbling sound.
you have to compost that before otherwise it will poison the soil.
>but a bucketful of poatoes being poured into the kitchen sink for washing make a really satisfying rumbling sound.

Any grandpa from WW2 and sovuet era telling how life was before? Would you travel around the world if u have the money?
>Would you travel around the world if u have the money?
May be I would visit some cool cities of Europe, NA and Asia.
>Any grandpa from WW2 and sovuet era telling how life was before?
Of course, this theme is, probably, about 75% of speech old ones.
Didnt know. Thanks for feedback.
Btw, human shit is toxic (as I remember it is common with monkeys).
My legs after harvesting
Very based, here people only plant sugar canes, it ruins the soil, but everyone dream to become a rich sugar millionaire
>but everyone dream to become a rich sugar millionaire
Sounds cool.
How much land did you harvest?
About 0.5 sq. km
And you harvested potatoes 3 months after planting them?
0.5 sq km of potatoes?
How many pounds of potatoes did you get?
I think the land should have been cleared of all that grass and other non wanted vegetation and then it should be composted no?
Yep, +350 sq.m of other food.
I didn't count precisely, but thisis about 1-1.3 tonn of potato.
How long did it take for potatoes to be ready for harvest?
3-4 months
Usually 4 months.
The golden era of sugar is long gone, i have an uncle who managed to become rich by sugar canes and now produces cachaça and alcohol but it doens't happens anymore. He acomplished it by exploiting other Farmers. The sugar prices are super-low now but the markets keeps being flooded
Absolutely blessed thread
based and potatopilled
>The golden era of sugar is long gone
Yeah, it ended when we figured out how to get sugar from beet.
If you both ate 1.8 kg of potatoes perday that would be 217kg of potato consumption in 4months should have lots leftover if you get 2 more harvests of potato this year
>should have lots leftover if you get 2 more harvests of potato this year
Potato isn't my way to wage money for life, it is just way to get some healthier food and sometimes help relatives.
I mean applied to soil trying o be used as fertilizer.
Purple socks?
How many harvests have you done this year?
Any story time from them?
based, reminds me of digging up potatoes from my grandma's dacha as a kid
