As far as I know there is pretty much no actual reason for this. Wallet to wallet Monero tx's can be more expensive than other coins but not to the degree that exchanges inflate their fees. My guess is they do this because Monero is kind of a pain in the ass to set up on their end and this is a way to recoup costs.

Yep. Easy to implement since the new version runs Web Assembly. Should be able to directly recompile the original Monero source using clang & emscripten and have a Holo based Monero sidechain pretty much day 1. I'm really curious at to whether it can also be used to provide an anonymisation layer to obfuscate the source Agent when reading or writing to the public DHT. If so, it'll make implementing a whole lot of hApps (like say, a DNM that doesn't need Tor) easier to create. Not long til launch, we'll find out soon.
