Explain yourself Nepal

"Nepal is the only country in the modern world that does not have a rectangular national flag. It is crimson with blue borders and incorporates stylized symbols of the sun and moon."

Literally based

Just spent 10 days in Nepal. Beautiful country, but the first place I've seen outside of sub-Saharan Africa that makes India seem like an unusually efficient and functional country.

Isn't the rectangle white?

cringe
based

Did you manage to piss some Nepali off by saying the Buddha was indian

Never met a Nepalese who wasn’t based. Great fellows.

No, but I did get six of them arrested for calling my girlfriend sexy, kek.

Beta move bro but based nonetheless fucking tharkis getting btfo

TBQH they scattered like roaches when I walked up to them. Morons probably thought nobody would anything because there were so many of them.

*say anything

Didn't the whole country get destroyed by a big earthquake a few years ago?

Isn't it forbidden to be a brainlet in Switzerland?

Switzerland is a nice place to live, they have chocolate, cows, mountains and lakes. The flag is a big plus as well.

How is that even possible how would a whole country get destroyed nigga tf are you on about they had an earthquake yes but the whole country didn’t get destroyed since Nepal still exists obviously

Not the whole country. The earthquake's epicenter was in Gorkha, which is about a hundred miles from the capital. However, Kathmandu still suffered extensive damage. A lot of the historical sites are still in shambles and covered in scaffolding. Roads are in variable condition.

The earthquake was devastating, but a lot of Nepalese people I talked to said the inefficiency has been present for a long time. For instance, there are barely any traffic lights in Kathmandu and the ones that are there don't work and didn't work before the quake, either. Hands-down the worst drivers I've ever had to deal with, albeit slightly more considerate than Indians in terms of not incessantly honking or tailgating.

No, non white countries use it for their flags too.

Mean destroyed as in heavily damaged/affected. It's not like Nepal is a big place after all. It does sound kind of underdeveloped even without the earthquake though.
My parents went to Bangladesh in 1990 and you couldn't drink the tap water which they found strange. They were told to drink Evian just to be safe.

>My parents went to Bangladesh in 1990 and you couldn't drink the tap water which they found strange.
And you still can’t drink tap water anywhere in the subcontinent if you’re visiting for the first time so nothing changed

What were two Romanian boomers.doing in Banglsdesh in 1990?

Sounds like the plot of a horror movie lol.

Ohio and Nepal are true friends.

Not many places in India, Nepal, Bangladesh or Pakistan you can drink tap water. Affluent households here usually have high-tech purifiers or reverse-osmosis systems. Older folks, even those with money, still tend to boil, bottle and refrigerate water that comes from the tap and is intended to be drunk.

There are a handful of places, especially in the mountains, where it's okay to drink tap water, but they're few and far between.

I will say that I've had lots of well water in villages and never had any problems, but I'd never drink from the tap in Delhi or Kolkata or any other big city.

Lots of Pre colonial South Asian states used to have triangular flags.

Can confirm. Village water never gave me sore throat or cold either it was always city water.
Kinda ironic since shitting in rivers and ponds is a village thing...

Same for China. They told us not drink tap water before boiling or just buying bottled water (I've heard stories that even the bottled kind isn't very safe).
My grandparents have a deep well in their garden. Most people in villages do. I live in the capital so I use a filter like pic related even if it's not as good as the expensive osmosis ones. Water companies say they check the tap water regularly and there are no problems but who trusts them?
Working for the government.

anyone can afford a fuckin kent these days

Might want to remember 70% of the country is villages and towns, lad.

wow what a cucc

heh

People in a lot of rural areas don't even have constant electricity supplies, let alone in-house ROs. Was just in a place that hasn't had drinking water for the past six months because of an irrigation project; not a Kent in sight.

do they still have a common red pitcher in the house where residents go to to quench their thirst?
my knowledge comes from hindi serials lol

Nigga, you'll find those in every non-AC restaurant in the country.

shit I need to leave my house more

Are you the Kolkata faggot?

Fuck you that's why

in all honesty it just never got changed

Probably an Albanian immigrant

Do you?

I guess there are a couple of Kolkata posters here

Nah, don't think you're the same user.

I know that I just meant its different from others

Pretty good, back here for another week.

You washed your hands with water from one of those pitchers at the mishti shop, fagboi.

no I didn't faget
it was the tap,
and I always use the tap after I eat there

Pretty sure I saw you drink from that pitcher then, homie. I know you were groping it at one point

huh
idk maybe
I do drink water from shops if im not carrying a bottle for some reason
btw im sorry I didn't plan things out that day

Nah, wasn't really that bad. Just some sweat, senpai. I didn't melt. Looked like you were worse off than me anyway, kek.

And my bad. I don't think I've seen any quite like that recently. The most typical set-up, at least during the monsoon, seems to be a bucket system. People will harvest rainwater and collect well-water. Two or three buckets (the big plastic ones that paint and concrete come in) are usually reserved for washing and cleaning, while another might be set aside for drinking and subsequently covered with a wet cloth.

people need to rediscover the joys of siphoning again
