There is no guarantee set in stone that China will continue rising. The whole economy and social cohesion is based off the promise of GDP growth, if the growth stops, or worse, reverses, the deal is off. This seems like a pretty straight forward idea, but for a country that is now locked into the global economy and at the behest of rival nations, it's not a full-proof plan anymore.
