if you don't know any grammer then it's a problem but you don't have to know everything for daily conversations. for example i don't know all the grammer rules in english but it's alright, i can express myself and you can understand me.

you don't even need to know all the tenses in english. if you know,

-past tense
-present tense
-future tense
-past continuous
-present continuous tense

then you are good to go. don't even bother with passive voice sentences. unnecessary.

Russian grammar is a lot more complex than english grammar.
