Robinhood >Commission free and no minimum to open robinhood.com
Interactive Brokers >Cheapest trading platform for Europeans, very good API, anal registration process. $0.005/share, $1 minimum. Lowest margin interest. Free API access interactivebrokers.com
TD Ameritade >$6.95 commission per trade. No minimum to open. Fantastic data/charting through their free ThinkorSwim service tdameritrade.com
Degiro (Cheap broker for Europeans) >2nd cheapest platform for Europeans, they announced an increase of their commission fees. Very quick registration process degiro.eu
I decided to go all in. This is one of the first times I've done this and it's paying off so far. Anything I should keep an eye for or things to attention to? My brother is helping me with alarms and so have I. I've only been using robinhood for a week.
Gonna start trading. For basic stock trading would you guys recommend Fidelity, TD, or Etrade? I dont want Robinhood. Is TD's 6.95 really that outrageous of a commission?
Jace White
anybody think NIO is going to keep shooting up? I keep seeing a bunch of newer IPOs that shoot up a lot and then crash back down below the original price.
Robert Russell
That sucks, but IMO don't make any rash decisions. I'm long with a cost of $38, and have been getting into it for the last 3 years. I've bought at prices above the current price over the last 4 months.
You can either stomach the pain, or you can't. You either think the risk/reward of This Time It's Different, or of the obscene value and hopefully rational supply discipline of the oligopoly will work, or it won't. You either want to stick your dick in the GS analysts ass and fuck the jews, or you want to give them your money by being a scared little NPC.
Benjamin Robinson
Those in NIO, please start taking your profits before the weekend.
Blake Price
This is what I'm asking too. I've made a profit, but I wanna know what to look out for or watch
Daniel Smith
It's the same thing every single day

Interactive Brokers.
Also don't trade. Look up INVESTING, and put all thoughts of get rich quick schemes or timing bullshit out of your mind. Jow Forums is cancer, and all intelligence long ago abandoned this coin shilling shitheap.
Nolan Murphy
if you talk to them and have more than 25k, you can get TD to lower price, am only pay $3 and will get $2 next month
yes it will go up TSLA shareholders are buying it. also TSLA shorts are buying it out of hate for TSLA. also it is too soon to for the stock to crash on the Tesla of China hype.
Adam Moore
how much do you guys look to gain for each share sold, usually?
Carter Brown
>it went down today, so it will go up tomorrow
William Baker
I typically sell at 5% but I'm a cuck and both sells this week have nearly doubled within days. Missed out on all those juicy gains. So fuckin disappointed.
Ryder Flores
Commissions will fuck you if you actively trade your stocks A $6.96 commission means they'll charge you $6.95 every single time you make a trade If you trade frequently, that'll add up fast If you want to use a platform that charges commissions over something like robinhood, then the only real reason to do so is because they offer better research tools and advising Take advantage of that and find good stocks to hold over a long term period
Don't listen to retards in these threads who bitch about orderflow, it really doesn't matter unless you're a high frequency trader
Is there a benefit to making a portfolio with a few different vanguard ETFs/MFs vs. being 100% in VTSAX?
Currently 100% in VTSAX but I’m looking at some other ETF and MF options and some of them look pretty good with 10%+ historical returns compared to VTSAX’s 7%. Would it be wise to spread 5k or so around some of those? Or should I just keep pumping all of my money into VTSAX and forget about it? I plan on being a mostly passive investor but will be adding to my account regularly and won’t be selling anytime soon

So is everyone buying Nio tomorrow?
Gavin Wilson
I’m buying $8,000 of NIO at the bell tomorrow. It’s time to make some CHAD tier profits.
Luke Brooks
dont you think it blew its load already?
Eli Gonzalez
I sold 80% of my shares today, and the proceeds from the sale almost exactly match what I spent on NIO, so now I'm just riding on free shares. Feels good man.
TD ameritrade is actually a canadian firm. Fuck 'em. Use interactive brokers, or robinhood
David Thomas
There was no big selloff at the end or anything. People are still holding and they want to buy tomorrow, like me. I think it’ll be another Green Day.
Robert Fisher
i know this is a really vague question, but how much money can a reasonably smart person make day trading? if it helps, let's say they start with like $50,000
also, what's the average time commitment? are most day traders active during market hours and then researching all evening?
Everyone is different. No one is guaranteed to make money. And like warren buffet said: the stock market is a no strike game. You can choose your swing, you never have to swing (paraphrasing). You never lose money on trades you pass up.
Dominic Reyes
I think as long as china and FXI rises to 44 dollars over the trade talk potential then IQ and NIO will continue to rise. If tariffs are died and FXI hits 50 dollars again I'll be happy and rolling in greens.
N.. I plan on going all in to recover from bad call this past week
Logan Williams
You have to have at least $25,000 to be able to day trade (you're marked as a pattern day trader if you make more than 3 day trades in 5 trading days otherwise)
How much money you make depends entirely on your own personal decisions, there's no real way to predict it
Position trading (holding shares for weeks, months, or years) is a much safer and often more effective option
I think some newfriends are starting to migrate from crypto and looking to invest their money in something that isn't based entirely on speculative hype
Ive been lurking /smg/ since Feb, but was to blind to see that the crypto bubble had bursted. Only started seriously investing since June. Wish i would of bought AMD early like I said i would instead if dropping 3k on XLM.
Fuck Crypto
Xavier Young
Plz
Jace Murphy
The only question that matters is why haven't you bought AMRS again yet?
Jaxon Murphy
Hey comfe are you on here all day?
Luke Brown
better late than never think about crypto objectively now that you're out of it can you honestly say that the vast majority of cryptocurrencies (altcoins like XLM) have any real world use outside of being a way for people to gamble on what coin is going to "moon" next
you made the right choice stocks are backed by companies that actually produce things of tangible value when you invest in amd, you aren't just investing in the abstract idea of amd, you're investing in the actual products it produces
Of course, that's me betting that Tesla will implode, which will drive all the "But EVs are the FUTURE!!!" people into other EV stocks and NIO will be one of the ones that benefit.
I determine what price I sell at before I buy a stock. What matters is knowing when to get out and not holding for an arbitrary number like +/- 10%.
If you're buying a stock, you're buying it because you're confident in it's future. Unless you're day trading, in which case you're on your own.
Ryan Lewis
>I would make almost 3,000 with 15 shares
'T is so much joy ! 'T is so much joy ! If I should fail, what poverty ! And yet, as poor as I Have ventured upon a throw ; Have gained! Yes ! Hesitated so This side the victory !
Life is but life, and death but death ! Bliss is but bliss and breath but breath ! And if, indeed, I fail, At least to know the worst is sweet. Defeat means nothing but defeat, No drearier can prevail !
And if I gain, — oh, gun at sea, Oh, bells that in the steeples be, At first repeat it slow ! For heaven is a different thing Conjectured, and waked sudden in, And might o'erwhelm me so !
Alexander Price
AMD's been dropping today, which makes me sad. I'm thinking of purchasing some shares of TTD, which shows a lot of potential, but I'm worried about over-investing in tech. Maybe I should buy some more ETFs? Maybe some stock in food manufacturing? Still new to this.
Now that i'm out of that hype from crypto. I am enjoying Stocks way more, even though I lost most of my gains learning options this past week, its okay. (I like to learn the hard way haha). I'm looking foward to being a trader for as long as I can be.
>still holding them shitcoins though
Liam Rogers
I see a lot of folks migrating from crypto, lots of new frens
Justin Long
Ive yet to trade anything so far because i just started looking at the stock market aswell and wanna save up a bit before i jump in. I have no idea how options work lol all the terminology is so much more complicated then crypto and forex
Parker Parker
Yep. Got out in January, also playing options. Holding a tiny bit of Vechain on the side in case it does boom in 1-2 years (probably won't).
some more GALT shill news for you lads one of GALT's scientists is going to present at a conference on melanoma in Germany about how promising its compound is in treating melanoma this is essentially a confirmation that the upcoming cancer data will be positive
newb question. does this mean you have to pay 5 bucks when you buy AND sell? so each stock costs 5 bucks more and you lose 5 bucks when you sell it?
Kayden Evans
>next week
GALT is a position trade, not a swing trade It should be held until cancer data and phase 3 NASH trials at the very least, possibly longer for a partnership/buyout
I'm the opposite but at least you lock in profits. Could have booked a 15% gain on my TSLA short a few days ago but it's clawed back up despite the shit flood of bad news. Still ok though, rode a very nice short down from $320 so have that to hang my hat on. TSLA reminds me of oil futures a few days ago. It just goes up and up against all logic. Might be too much of a crowded trade to be short, shit makes no sense.
Nathan Gutierrez
Meant oil futures a few years ago
Yep, every buy and sell you will pay. Also sometimes an exchange fee for certain exotic ETFs but those are usually only a few cents.
Oliver Hughes
why is it so low now?
Samuel Garcia
Does somebody have a link to the IRC btw?
Austin Evans
It's per purchase, so if you buy 100 zyz stock at $5 a piece, you will only be charged (5*100) + 5 dollars So it pisses away money when you buy a bunch of separate stocks, but is trivial if you are buying large amounts
>CERU muh nigga >GEVO, MBOT too
Can't fool me again lad
Benjamin Scott
oh jesus that makes me feel better. i feel retarded, i thought it was 5 bucks per share and it seemed like an absolute shitload. so if you buy large amounts of one stock it really does seem trivial. i have a lot to learn...
Luis Flores
Because there hasn't been any news for months The science is promising, but nothing has happened for a while, so people have gotten impatient and doubtful and sold out of fear
Newfag/ crypto failure. Payday tomorrow. What can i make a decent gain on with 300 tomorrow at like 9am? If you just started tomorrow what would be your first move? Thanks stockbros

I'd wait until Monday and do research over the weekend and make your own decisions.
GALT, since it's being shilled right now, I think of as an alright long-term buy, but since you came from crypto and are new, you may not have the patience for the wait that will be.
Don't forget to diversify.
Mason Jenkins
Bet on the FOMO
But there is definitely gonna be a point to bail before the ship completely sinks. Though I have no idea where that will be.
I could see a rally into the 30s just off of hype, though, which is nearly triple what it closed at today.
I'll see tomorrow when the market is open, I've been meaning to move my money out of NEE now that I've hit my target.
Landon Robinson
I would love to tell you good advice like these other anons, but honestly buy NIO at 9:30 est and just sell at the end of the day. >had to complete 10 captchas for this post Wew
Gavin Stewart
if i buy NIO tomorrow you think it will be a good price on monday/tuesday?
