Well first off the right is completely empty of any and all ideas, so it doesn’t really matter. Not only does the right have no solutions to anything, they can’t even figure out the correct sources of all the problems being faced by people living today (or at any time in history). The right comes in contact with reality at no point whatsoever, so it’s literally the definition of a meme and should be treated as such.

Secondly what the right thinks it is on paper, and what it actually is in reality, are so wildly different that anyone who insists the right should be judged based on how they see themselves should be laughed at. It’s literally a movement that doesn’t even know what it actually wants, all they know is that they don’t want human equality and they don’t want people on the lower end of the social hierarchy to have any freedom or autonomy whatsoever.

Keep this in mind the next time David Brooks whines about declining birthdates, religious participation, and home ownership, while also whining that business is being too regulated, and the people should be working more, and that private healthcare isn’t a predatory system, and that rent control is bad, and that raising wages is bad. He has such little clue that he supports things that undermine the more religious and traditional society he also wants. This is pretty standard for right-wing thought, which is always devoid of serious thought and almost always based on emotion.

I don't think many people seriously hate the UK these days. While most people disagree with the UK government's current actions and remember what happened in the past they don't hold it against the average British person. We consume a huge amount of British culture and many Irish still immigrate to Britain. There will always be a fringe nationalist element but they don't represent the majority. Personally I like Britain a lot, probably more than the average Irish person
