not just the ottomans, Hungary's been wartorn since 1526, and even well before that with the Tatárjárás and all that. The population was nearly wiped out like five times, it's amazing the language survived, let alone the architecture.
Belgrade isn't too bad, and homestly they've been making strides since the 90s
the oldest building is a thing called the Crimson Hedgehog house (pic), it was from 1260 and it's been owned by nobles and renovated tons of times, so it's been technically Ship of Theseus'd, but still
