The Holy Roman Empire is a supranational construct, which included Germany and also Spain, Burgundy and Italy at some point.
Meanwhile the BRD is a company comparable to the East Indies company or Hudson Bay company. It is not a nation state, it is a profit based company created by a foreign country to extract resources from the region.
