What do you do because that sounds like an interesting job.

I guess basically you sell stuff made in another country for a higher price. People can't bother searching for a chinese reseller or don't trust it so they buy from you

I'm just a typical "middle-man". My customers (mostly in US and Europe) give me and my competitors a list of things that they require (usually inputs that they will turn into a finished product). I contact a bunch of vendors (mostly in China). If the price is OK, I haggle a little, and hopefully buy from my vendor, and sell it to my customer. There are some other things involved, but that's the basics of it.

true. a lot of my customers have tried to set up purchasing departments that do what I do (so they can "cut out the middle-man"); but they always seem to fail and go back to buying from people like me.

flag

I guess it also depends on the size of the commission. Also people don't perceive the added value of a middle man, like time saved, they just think they're paying another person for no reason

flag

I've never made $200K+ myself, but some of my colleagues have made that much regularly. This was during global shortages where the price for a certain thing skyrockets. They can also make a lot in if the person they buy from literally stole those things. There are a lot of unscrupulous factory operators in the developing world who will over-produce and sell the surplus personally, or just flat out steal from their own factory.

>So you don't do real shit
I do typical office shit in a cubicle. Making phone calls, sending emails, logging everything I do with outdated database software. If that's not "real shit" then the vast majority of white-collar workers don't do "real shit". I work 9-5 most days. When I'm in the middle of a big deal, I work at home and don't sleep so I can chat with vendors people during their office hours.

Attached: offi1469562799413.jpg (286x232, 16K)

Also this. Urban centric politics, I want denser more efficient cities and better public transport infrastructure.
Fuck country side leaches personally know at least two cases of "farmers" that pretty much live of government handouts growing useless shit at a smallish scale that they have pretty much no market for and just sell at ridiculous low prices such as blackberries for half an euro a kilo. Many such cases around here not sure why we bother keeping those areas alive.

kys subhuman citynigger

Sounds like a decent job, how did you get into it?

>$30/hr
What the fuck, that's really fucking low

>20-200k per commission
maybe I wrote it in a misleading way originally, but that's wrong. The least I've ever made is $20K in one year. The most that one of my co-workers has made is $200K+ in one year (I don't know the exact number).

I guess we have different ideas of green nationalism, because I see rampant urbanisation as the source of all evil
Nothing eradicates green spaces as effectively as greedy developers

Go build poultry farms for government subsidies and then throw them down a river you filthy leach.
Just empty out the country and declare it a huge natural reserve.

I worked in the warehouse straight out of high school, just doing normal warehouse things (moving boxes, counting things, packaging and unpackaging, ect). Found the job advertised on craigslist.

There was a big natural disaster in SE asia which destroyed a bunch of electronics factories, so things got very busy for us. As one of the few warehouse employees with an IQ > 80, english fluency, and computer skills; they asked me to help out with sales and purchasing.

After the shortage was over, I asked the branch manager if I could switch, and he said yes. I make practically nothing for my base salary, 5% commission on profits from purchasing, and 10% on sales.

Yes green party voters are usually pretty disconnected from the reality of things.
The truth is:
>intensive farming is far more efficient in water and land uses.
>Denser cities are far more efficient, infrastructure cost can be justified when they have to cover a smaller area to serve a larger number of people. And that goes for every piece of infrastructure, from sewage to water, to electrical grid, to mass transport to public services.

Smart, planned, collectively focused, built around urbanization is the only feasible way to measurably reduce the human impact on the environment, I would think that this would be fairly obvious to everyone but apparently not.

I do agree with your post and I know in the real world urban development is exactly as you described it, don't mind me talking about hypothetical situation, a man can dream.

I'm not a green party voter because greens here are turbolefties with 000,1% votes and eco right wing simply don't exist

greens, republicans, communists, libertarians; I don't care. i'll take anyone except the democrats.

Why anyone but the Dems?

Nice job
Shit political opinions though, dont vote

all political parties have corruption, incompetence, catering to special interests, etc. I don't trust any political party to "do the right thing" they are all following electoral incentives. I especially hate the democrats, not because they are psychologically more evil than other politicians or something like that, but because they have perverse incentives. They benefit electorally from the very problems that they cause. they can utterly destroy a city like Detroit, and end up with even bigger electoral majorities because of it. They make a city/county/state poor, and then people will vote even for them even more because they are now more dependent on the government handouts.
