Even if mainnet releases, nothing interesting will come of it. It takes months or years for usage to ramp up. Link will seemingly randomly pump and consolidate, and mainnet launch or a 'partner' announcement won't be the catalysts.

Mainnet launches are just targets for whales when they pre-dump their bags, because that's when the hype is maxed out.

The reason you think this is because your relating chainlink to every other shitcoin which doesn’t actually do anything, linkpool has been taking 700 requests a day just on the testnet, so we will have a decent amount of usage on launch of mainnet.

So eth scaling matters a lot for eth being the primary blockchain for smart contracts
It matters very little for it being the token backbone for link
Ironically corda and hyperledger may end up being the sc platforms of choice for big business with link the oracle network

Being declared a security for any project would be devastating, moreso for a project dependent on corporate partners
