the reason why they were illegal in the first place was the law that prohibited putting inedible things inside food and toy inside chocolate egg counts as non edible thing inside food

The US lifted that ban years ago. Cocoa has been pretty expensive for years now, chocolate producers won't sell their good into markets they don't deem profitable anymore.

Used to be my favorite as a kid, but nowadays it's way too sweet for me and the milky tones are too much. It tastes like they drop massive amounts of powdered milk into it. I prefer local Wedel.
