When this is found all possible related structures are screened in order to gain insight in the how and why. Usually by companies who will be quick to patent them.

That you have to look up in the existing literature. When a procedure is tested and found suitable and repeatable it is published in some academic journal.
I imagine it will be something along the lines of stirring a suitable solution of the corresponding alkene precursor with a high concentration of hydrogen bromide in molar excess, isolating and purifying the resulting alkyl bromide intermediate, this will require vacuum distillation. Then the latter is stirred in a suitable solution containing a high concentration of methylamine in molar excess. And isolate and purify again using vacuum distillation, isolate the amine fraction. Then make a salt from that, by neutralising it with a suitable acid.
