Fuck no

It fixes the focal length in your eyes so you only have good vision at one distance. Why the fuck would you do this to yourself. Decent glasses are a hundred bucks, contacts are inexpensive too.

Nah PRK

Worth every penny

So lasik is a meme? Just stick with glasses contacts?

It's the best for 5-10 years, then it deteriorates worse than before and there's less chance that it can be fixed every time.

I pay $400 a year for my contacts. When I go to the beach / get sand under them/ sleep at a random barwhores house / get into a fist fight I can no longer see shortly after

considering lasik for sure.

I'm thinking about doing smile, a lot less complications than lasik

Carry glasses with you?

yeah because wearing glasses at the beach makes you look cool. enjoy those raccoon eyes. or after getting hit in the face just be like 1 sec bro lemme wear my glasses. i cant see for shit without them, like not even a foot in front of me.

- small chance to fuck up your eyesight completely

- you'll get presbyopia at a faster rate

- good chance to fuck up your night vision

- you won't be able to use normal soft contact lenses EVER. When they release lenses with integrated displays in 10-20 years guess who'll miss out? Same goes for treating presbyopia with lenses.

so fuck no.

>he thinks glasses appreciably detract from his appearance
>gets in barfights
manlet detected

Did it. Best decision of my life.

Ignore idiots.

I did it
First week was horrible cause of the pain, but after this week i had 0 problems

Would do it again

yes i'd do it if they paid me the right price and didn't sue me afterwards

you wear glasses at the beach it will literally burn the skin around your eyeballs.
>how do magnifying glasses work

and yeah, if you go to a bar enough, you will eat a fist or five.

>what are sunglasses

You should avoid all those things, sir

no
lasikcomplications.com/largepupils.htm

>raccoon eyes
so now i need to buy, prescription sunglasses, regular glasses, and a constant supply of contacts - almost every other year as my script changes.

>enjoy everything fun just because your vision isnt perfect
k

Not Lasik, get the more expensive one its great. Got my eyes lasered 10 years ago, best investment i have made.

No
There’s nothing wrong with needing glasses, your eyes are just short or long
LASIK damages something that doesn’t need to be damaged

not worth risking eyesight life long damage. people have committed suicide after fucked up eye surgeries. just wear classes

Attached: Asuka_Langley_en_NGE.jpg (1280x960, 128K)

hell no

there are ortho contacts you wear at night
allaboutvision.com/contacts/orthok.htm
much better option than lasik

>he doesn’t have transitions for his regular glasses
Lmaon

you know how shitty transition lenses are? they just fucking change randomly, even in front of a computer screen.

they will probably make better lenses 10 years from now

I had PRK done instead of Lasik, because PRK doesn't require an incision on your retinas. Worth every fucking cent. My vision went from "What the hell does that sign five feet away say?" to "I can read the tail number on that jet taking off at the airport five miles away."

I have transitions and I’ve never had that problem

Guys, I'm -12 in my left and -10.5 in right eye
Contacts work well but glasses make it look like I am peering through a fishbowl. I have the highest grade lenses which help to negate the effect but the fishbowl is still present.
No driving with glasses
If I lose both contact lenses while driving I am guaranteed to wreck because I cant see past the steering wheel.
Life is suffering.

is there a point where lasik is acceptable?

i threw away my original transitions. literally worthless. do you just stay in moms basement? walk into a store from the sun? takes time to adjust. in front of a bright flashing screen? same shit.

yeah man, i had my doctor give me a huge set of trial lenses, just to leave in my car. ive had lenses rip in my eyse and shit and had to leave them in while driving home. people with good vision literally dont get how dangerous it can be.

one of best decisions of my life

We're not in year 2000. Negative lasik outcomes are extremely rare these days and most docs wont risk their success rate if you're not a good candidate for it. Over 10 years since I had it and just had an eye exam for a physical; 20/20, no issues, best decision ever.

I suppose next you'll preach the evil of CRISPR machine interfacing. Stop holding us back you apes.

I’ve never had the problem you’re saying with transitions

What's your script?

Idk like -5 in each eye?

The surgeons who perform Lasik don't have it done on themselves half the time. That should tell you all you need to know.

It's not permanent, and you have more problems when the effects wear off. The doctors will always lie to you about this part

>Photochromic lenses, when exposed to sunlight/UV rays, will on average take approx 30 seconds to a minute to darken and will continue to darken for a further 10 minutes to full sunglasses tint/shade, returning to an almost clear state within 2 minutes and fully cleared within 5 minutes although excess temperature will affect this.

sure you dont

Ok yeah they take time to change shade
I’ve never had problems by staring at a screen

What is the more expensive one?

So they slide the top of your eye, then put it back. Chances are it never connects properly and there are people who get it separated by a soft direct impact, even by a splash in the swimming pool. Also, you get bad sight in the night.

PRK
No flap is involved so your body heals better

As someone who has many family members who've done it with no problems and excellent results, fuck no I would never consider it. It only takes one small error to kill your eyes. The idea of a laser tearing into my eyes terrifies me. And even if everything works out smoothly initially, there's no guarantee that you won't have any problems a decade or so down the line. I also box occasionally and don't want to give that up but even if I didn't, I still wouldn't think about lasik.

The fuck is with all the glass Jews in this thread. Fixing my eyes was the best decision of my life

youtube.com/watch?v=dBoEWaIAOys

Best money i've ever spent.

you nerds are dum... get the best technology which is ICL implantable contact lense… its 10k for both eyes but worth it.

ICL works for all prescriptions and the safest option

Not until they develop something like Lasek or PRK that is COMPLETELY reversible. Current tech involves removing material from the cornea and simply fuck that.

Corneas can heal just like every other part of you

I have a question about contacts
Bruh....how the FUCK do you niggas put that shit directly into your eyes with little signs of discomfort/squeamishness? And on a regular fucking basis, too
It's like, dude....you are putting something RIGHT on top of your actual fucking eyeball. Like that shit is normal. The fuck?

takes practice. first few times were pain

I remember when my brother first got contacts and one slid under his eye

deluded
your body can mend itself but it cannot fully grow back shit. if you cut off your finger you're fucked. if you gouge a baseball out of your side you will have a hole there. if you cut off half your liver it does not grow back.

I can't feel my contacts until they start drying out.

I like them a lot better than wearing my glasses, which you can always tell you're wearing.

im holding out for CRISPR genetic engineering

my vision will be like 1/1

happens occasionally. just gotta work it back around in a crumpled up mess

Get PRK if you must have this shit done, or wear glasses like a normal person.

you know that just means you can see at 1 ft what you should be able to see at 1 ft, right?

Corneas heal a lot like skin m8

Any problems at night? Holo or light things?
Plan to do PRK too, seems to be the safest method.

pretty sure it means I can see at 20 feet what a normal person can see at 1 foot for both my left and right eyes. The / separates the two eye measurements.

I think that’s something like 20/1

You should try not getting into fights. And wearing prescription sunglasses. And stop banging degenerate whores.

Looks like it's a procedure that is mainly advised for those who have too thin corneas to get Lasik but how on earth do you prevent dry eyes if they insert lenses?

Corneas will heal perfectly, or not at all. They don't have blood vessels, so healing is very, very slow regardless.

Infections are very common, even from everyday bullshit like a tiny scratch or abrasion. There's a thin line between the cornea and all the actual super vulnerable shit underneath, and if you breach it, you'll do permanent, irreversible damage to your eye.

that means your left eye is fine and your right eye is amazing

I won't get Lasik because I like wearing glasses. Protects my eyes from dust and wind. An dive always had glasses. I pay like 100 bucks a pair. And a pair last me a couple years usually. Fuck the laser Jew

i had the ICL surgery 2 years ago and still perfect vision

no night vision issues and no dry eyes

also think about it, if its always measured against 20 why would you include 20? Also shouldnt there be 4 numbers to describe both eyes?

you must never pick up chicks. sometimes you gotta take a punch in the face or 10 by her jackass bf to get good pussy.

and when you wear sunglasses, at a beach, you get a fucking raccoon tan.

Best decision of my life. Changed my life forever.
You don't realise what a handicap having glasses is until you don't need them anymore. There was no pain at all. The only bad part is smelling the laser burning your flesh. It's a very quick and easy surgery. Don't be a pussy. Do it.

I don’t think you get this m8

wait for better technology

ill get my shit fixed in like 5 years

Attached: microstitches.jpg (1100x619, 29K)

Like anything you don;t really notice after a while, as long as they are clean, if they aren't perfectly clean you can feel burning and shit, and when they dry out it fucking sucks

no fighting after LASIK, search 'corneal flap dislocation'

stay away from Lasik/Prk

best technology out there right now is ICL .. dyor

You can get a surgery but not the LASIK tpye. Go for PRK.

Lasik may get you picture related

thank me later user

No thanks. It's too risky and I like my glasses.

its a quick recipe for blindness if just one mistake happens. too high risk. just wear fucking glasses.

blindness from lasik is such a meme, the risk is insanely low even if you go to mexico to do it cheap.

No one has ever gone blind from lasik

everyone i know who got lasik does that thing where they have to blink their eyes really hard every few seconds. no thanks

Exactly. Blindness is game over for you, especially if you live alone or don't have any kind of support

>Head held in place by hand instead of clamps

That doesn't look safe and exact at all.

Wear a fucking hat.

>amazed someone can puta contact in their eye
You sound like such a stupid nigger.

>No one has ever gone blind from lasik
demonstrably false. Maybe you're thinking like they shine a laser in your eye and it makes you blind, oh noes. Of course that doesn't happen. But what can happen is:

>runaway corneal scarring (either from the flap incision or the actual ablation treatment or from a subsequent infection) gives you permanent blurred vision, much like a cataract
>diminished corneal thickness can lead to keratoconus which is a bulging of the corneal layer, which hoses your vision, you need to wear hard contacts for the rest of your life to contain it, if you don't you run a risk of your eyes bursting(!) and then you are legitimately blind
>flaps tear off and go missing
>any of the above can contribute to severe dry eye that can make you as good as blind because you have to constantly irrigate your eyes with drops or else it rapidly becomes too painful to keep your eyes open to look at things

These aren't paranoid schizophrenic delusions, these are all documented outcomes of botched or even successful lasik procedures! And I haven't even mentioned the permanent nighttime aberrations that 99% of people are left with afterward because the pupil dilates beyond the optical zone at night, or the fact that a large amount of peoples' eyes begin reverting back to the old shape within a decade, leaving them having to either 'retouch' with another lasik procedure (reducing the amount of corneal tissue each time which exponentially increases the risk of side effects), or just capitulate and go back to glasses. And also the GUARANTEE that you will need reading glasses 1-2 decades earlier.

The last point is actually pretty mega, it is a hidden advantage of being nearsighted that a lot of fags don't appreciate. You can get into your 60s without needing to lug around reading glasses. If you correct your vision to 20/20, you WILL need them by the time you're 40.

Attached: 1532710505479.jpg (281x355, 34K)

PRK gets you this too, I should know. ANY laser eye treatment will get you starbursts so long as they treat a 6mm optical zone. And they won't treat a larger zone because you need to remove exponentially more cornea the larger you go.

If your pupils dilate over 6mm at night (and pretty much everyone's does unless you are like a 90-year-old meth fiend) you then you WILL experience halos, starbursts and glare. These can literally objectively be measured with instruments that measure higher order aberrations in the eye, and studies have shown pretty much everyone's HOAs shoot up after lasik. Some people are NPCs and not perceptive enough to notice these artifacts, but that doesn't mean they're not there.

Ask your opth for a preview lens, it's a contact lens that simulates this tiny optical zone that you'll be stuck with for life if you get lasik/prk. If you can live with the shit night vision it gives you, then I guess go for the procedure. But you owe it to yourself to experience what you're in for before you commit to an irreversible procedure on the only pair of eyes you've got.

Only got dry eyes the first year which was expected but now it’s been 3 years and I have 20/10 vision. No halos, reading vision perfect, and my distance vision has 0 blur.
I was nervous about the risks initially but after wearing contacts for 10 years I sucked it up and went for it. Waking up with perfect vision without poking your eye first is incredible

Thanks user, I can't fucking believe that I even thought that Lasik was a good idea after reading this.

Nice glasses, fag

My wife just did Lasik. It cost 6k and guess who's paying for it.

Attached: 1536950393446.jpg (1334x1334, 155K)

I got PRK done without my doctor fucking telling me about any of this shit. They told me that everything would be fine and these issues would be fixed over time. Well, it's been a year now since I had my PRK and it's just as fucking bad. I have really damn dry eyes and my night vision is so fucking bad. It really, really fucking sucks

Is there no cure to these complications?

Nope, and my vision is awful. Seems too unnatural, and I know people who have needed it done multiple times, although maybe they've gotten better at it.
