My view of Canada changed over the years.
Before I discovered Jow Forums I used to think about Canada as an ideal that Russia should aspire to be.
Canada and Russia have a lot in common:
-Huge territory
-Cold climate
-Vibrant cities but a large part of the population lives in rural areas
-Love for hockey
-Resource export based economy
I was jelous of how Canada made the best of their opportunities for the type of territory it has.

It's amazing how every single one canadian i met was extremley polite but at the same time had a lot of self-respect.

I was also stunded by how comfy and alive their rural areas look. That is something you will not find in Russia.
I belived that someday we will be better at running our state and our countryside will look just as cozy.

Soviet-era commieblocks especially the ones built under Khruschev(pic related) can survive a nuclear blast and also fit in nicely with older architecture in Russian cities forming a coherent urban environment together.
