For questions about the actual, day-to-day life and its character? Of course. How am I, who have never been in France, supposed to ascertain the character of life there? Mate, I know nothing about it. You can have some awareness of themes common in other countries through films and literature, you can look at data to find rates of incarceration or employment, you can even read the newspapers and know more about people in the said country about the events there. But, for the day-to-day life, I would never trust you over the person who lives there.

I am unknowing. This would require me to know much more than I do about economics, sociology and institutional design. It is insufficient to blame everything on corruption, as is customary.

That falls under what I referred to as old migrations. Much of the population exchange here happened in the 18th century, during the reign of Maria Theresa and Joseph II, with the colonisation of Slavonia by Czech and German settlers, and with the colonisation of the Military march.
