Yes? It says right there, can't you read?

>Indeed, the average annual hours worked by Americans in 2017 reached 1,780, whereas an adult male peasant in the United Kingdom worked an average of 1,620.

Australians also work more hours than a medieval peasant.

I’d rather Hustle 24/7 than Slave 9-5.

Fake news, the Earth rotated slower back then.

We all work more than your average prehistoric man and I'm including their normal shit like cooking, cleaning, mending etc. They "worked" like 27 hours a week. Medieval peasants could only work sunup to sundown and drastically less in winter. But I'd prefer not having half of my family die from disease or starvation and myself dying at 50.

>Yes? It says right there, can't you read?

Why isn't China listed? Didn't they start the 996 work system?

996 is technically illegal but the Chinese government allows tech companies to do it to increase revenue and research, so its not reported

They had it before, dialed back and now their filthy rich and political elite want it back as they realize manufacturing is moving to other countries and they can only get so much IP from the west. It's a dumb solution to their problem as studies indicate after about 6 to 6.5 hours we all perform markedly worse.

Working on the field is fucking harsh, mate. Idk if i would change places.

I hate this stupid country and this stupid work culture so fucking much.
They think you are insane if you don’t want to pick up extra shifts and hours. “Come on dude, extra money for you XD”. Literally a bunch of programmed robots who only want to work until death and have no morals. These fuckers are probably the only
developed country where union membership is UNDER 10%, HOW DOES that even happen lmao. Played by corporations and played by their own Media. I suffer in America with low wages that will probably never increase and high demands with no chance of a letup.

I agree.

Overworking is against our fundamental values of pursuing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Overworking is an insectoid value, but American values have been hijacked by giant corporations

y u no work int

Can't imagine 72 hours of programming a week.I work while finishing uni but probably do about ~40 hours of programming a week and it's mentally exhausting

How come it doesn't really show him working?

many greeks are unemployed, and work 0 hours. the ones who do have jobs need to pick up the slack for the unemployed ones, so they work non-stop.

not that im arguing you, these are meme videos meant to persuade kids in learning coding or stem.

What’s a good country to move to from the US?

he's working with other people's "private" data. accidentally showing it might get him fired or worse.

Come on goy, you get some good free time on the weekends :)
But don't forget to go to sleep early on sunday night, you gotta be up bright and early, Mr. Goldsteinberg needs a new car

God I wish data scientists got executed.

I imagine the work load for most peasants was seasonal.

>whereas an adult male peasant in the United Kingdom worked an average of 1,620.
how do they know this?

most americans work more hours than the average mexican peasant farmer

notice how americans tend to live longer than mexicans

So do we, Australians are ultimate wage slaves, our annual leave time is pitiful.

i see.
>making elite work extremely hard.
that is same as in japan.
that must be hard for greeks

Smart people get careers not jobs. Anybody with an average IQ in the US can start up a small business and work for themselves. Even kids manage to do it you fucking loser

My experience they only do it in crunches. I have a friend whose an auditor which is brutal during tax season (70 hours a week) but he gets a lot of vacation and can work well under kn the off season. I'm an engineer and can get straight overtime or argue for more time off. I think this concept of people working 72 hours a week most of the year is a myth. My company has people working 50 on average that fuck around, leave early and have 2 hour lunches. I estimate maybe 30 35 hours of actual work.

Honduras or Iran.
Rough estimations based on when I farmer could have farmed (seasons, bad weather and daylight) combined with estimations as to how long tasks took. At the end it's just estimations though it's especially hard for people who work outdoors.

Not everybody wants to make work their life

>Come on dude, extra money for you XD”
This is what my boss was telling me the other day when I didn't want to pick up shifts for some other fucker

It’s so fucking annoying because they’ll give you insane hours and THEN call in and ask/nearly demand that you fill in shifts. I genuinely do not want to spend the rest of my life working these many hours but literally every other option would either leave me with debt to my name and make me some pencilpusher in an office or leave me with debt and kill me in this jobless economy.
Just shut the fuck up boomer, you’ve already ruined our economy and working rights, the least you can do is just stop repeating the same talking points.

based peasantry

Attached: wagecuck vs peasant.png (1706x760, 987K)

at least americans today don't have to worry about dysentry and the monthly plague

Except in the southern USA

at least the peasantry didn't have to worry about
>getting shot

dilate
have sex

No, they don't.

Is he in public accounting? They work tiu to death

Why is this board full of communists? Hard work is a cornerstone of American culture.

>meanwhile I, a neet, put almost about as many hours into steam games per year as a German works

ayy lmao

Fuck off.

There's whole scientific fields dedicated to researching, collecting, storing and answering those questions. For example, we know the life of a man who emigrated from Greece to Egypt in 150-99BC after a divorce and how his descendants adapted to the then Eygptian-Greek world pre abrahamic religions.

We also know the mundane life of a town carpenter in france from the 1880s on messages he left on the underside of castle floor boards.

We also know that Pompeii citizens had graffiti and made dick jokes and gay jokes just like we do today. Also beware dog signs that were super excessive.

incel freak

Jow Forumstards are the biggest bootlickers on the planet

unironically wish i was some medieval peasant even though i have a good career and make more than enough money

More hours but not nearly as much work. Probably not even as much mental work.

other than one or two of the points i dont get why being a hard worker and optimist is a bad thing

Pretty much the reason I've stopped playing in a routine manner.

Based and reality pilled. We work slightly longer, but on average our quality of life is exponentially improved.
>in b4 more isolation and depression and culture
Nah bro, you gotta adjust. Society isn’t slowing down and revolving back to some Tradition and a revival of imitations of old. Get with evolution or be elected against.

What do you play and how do you not get tired of it after thousands of hours?

I got bored of gaming in my late teens and have had literally zero passions in life since then.

Attached: 1514684597223s.jpg (250x221, 10K)

That is false, while the peasant worked fewer hours for his lord, everything else took longer (fetching water, farming your own plot of land, sewing clothes, maintaining the fucking woods) all of that stuff still had to be done along with feudal obligations

Officially I have contract for 36,5h weekly but 5h in this lunch break and I go there 30m late and go out 1h earlier every day plus several coffee breaks

So my actual work that I am sitting at my chair and doing something is like 20h every week

This thread seems disingenuous because medieval times everything stopped when the sunset since they literally had no lights.

WTF no wonder you niggas are so poor.

I live pretty comfortable

Try an 80 hr week. I dare you.

For what reason? Sounds like hell.

lmao

Average farmer works from before dawn to sundown. No way a peasent worked less. Especially when taking things like the robotica into account

>greece

>tfw put more into a game then the average mexican works in a year

One day, all that remains of us, the proof we ever existed, will be words on the bottom of floor boards.

Memento te mortalem esse

TIL the average American works longer than the average jap. Interesting how the American media never mentions that when they talk about insane working hours of japs.

Faggot

This is me

Centuries from now, your post calling me a faggot will be all that remains of me. The only evidence I ever existed.

All we are is dust in the wind.

For the first time in history the rich work longer hours than the poor.

If you're a CEO or corporate lawyer or something there aren't many who can step in and do your job during downtime. If you work at a call centre or supermarket checkout you probably work part time shifts. And people on benefits, who would have starved in medieval times, don't work at all.

They can shoot the workplace, you can't.

You've been brainwashed
Medieval times peasants had even easier less stressing work

What do CEOs actually do?

this
they also had ton of off days during the year due to the insane amount of feast days and holidays there were in a calendar, if I recall correctly something like half of a Medieval peasant's year was made up of various celebrations

>Russia
I guess medieval times never ended.

While this is true, the troublesome implication is that peasants worked a lot rather than very little. Most modern office workers work more than medieval peasants. Peasants were agricultural in a time before a lot of agricultural advances. This meant that they probably did the stereotypical dusk-to-dawn slaving away during the sowing and harvesting seasons, but in between there was nothing to do except upkeep the plants and cut weeds (relatively unintense labor). Then there was also winter, where they had nothing to do but sit on their butts and wait for sowing season to start. On top of that the Catholic Church forced them to take every sunday off on top of the 80 church mandated holy days on which labor was forbidden as well.

So
>Spring = hard labor
>Summer = easy labor
>Fall = hard labor
>Winter = fucking nothing
>80+ vacation days

You're also forgetting the worst part of being a peasant: not the work itself, but being at the mercy of your liege. Some, like Russian serfs, were effectively slaves in that they weren't allowed to leave the land without explicit permission from their masters.

I wonder whether or not that includes Japan's "optional" overtime and "optional" post-job drinking with the boss.

Attached: 1465474751626.gif (379x440, 140K)

On second thought, describing winter as "fucking nothing" may be a bit false. I imagine their lord could still call upon them to perform other small services like menial tasks. Still, the point remains that being a peasant was in general rather chill.

t. Neet living in mommys house

Aren't wagies effectively slaves in that they aren't allowed to leave the workplace without explicit permission from their bosses?

>B-but you would die from diseases and wild animals back then

Attached: 1523818023649.gif (413x243, 13K)

I work as consultant (employed) so I saw several workplaces and at all of them you could walk in and leave as you like, time not even being tracked
some people also "work from home" 2 days a week ;)
of course you still need to pretend to work around 40 hours a week if your contract says so

Shut up you beta soyboy.
No I wouldnt die from diseases, you would because you are a weak beta.
No I wouldnt die from wild animals, you would because you are a weak beta.
No I wouldnt die from anarchy, you would because you are a weak beta.

Kill the weak beta and bring back the good days.

>they aren't allowed to leave the workplace without explicit permission from their bosses?
I don't know how offices work in Norway, but in the first world that isn't the case. You voluntarily by contract bind yourself todo work between certain hours and after that you're free to do as you please. If you breach that provision, the worst thing that can happen to you is that the contract is ended and perhaps you'll have to pay some damages. Not to mention you can always end the contract yourself, which may or may not include a two weeks/one month notice.

You'd have to be deliberately obtuse to think that is in even the remotest sense comparable to a serf not being allowed to leave his lord's lands.

Norway has no big cities, everyone lives in a village so life probably still is backwards as fuck for them

villages are a med scheme against hunter gatherer barbarian whites.

Based chinaman

We don't really know how much peasants worked, and we wouldn't know even if we had a solid definition of "work" in a peasant life-world which we don't. We do have better data for the early Industrial Revolution and they worked far more hours than modern people

tfw work 32 hours a week for 2300 euros per month

Attached: 1413295709001.jpg (200x373, 17K)

He's not wrong though.

>Smart people get careers not jobs. Anybody with an average IQ in the US can start up a small business and work for themselves.
And a startup requires almost a 24/7 investment. I'd rather just work the system and make porn to dumb cucks that actually think I do anything for more than 2 days a week.

I like how the first thing that came to your mind when you read my post was to wonder if Japan rigged it, making it seem as if only Japan would dare to do so and your Western ally can't possibly have shitty ass working environments which possibly match to Japan's. I wonder if people from the west ever question their own media. I guess they don't just like most japs don't.

ok

You aren't factoring in that they land they lived on was also they land they worked on, while feudal obligations might not have lasted all day, the other daily tasks including tending to your own plot of land would have eaten up the rest.
